so dont "quote" me on it- it is much safer if you always call each individual company yourself to get clear answers.

that being said... i use some products from Boiron and ive called them to ask if they were gluten free- and they said yes. i dont know if ALL their products are gluten-free or just the ones i take.. but i dont have any reaction to them at all.

i also take stop smoking homeo tablets from Nutrabio and i dont react to those either.

still- you should call the company of what you want to buy to make sure

The ones made from alcohol are often another matter. I finally found out why homeopathics never worked for me--the gluten from the grain based alcohol! Even most vodka (though not all) is made using glutenous grains.

You would think they would make a different choice, eh?

For the the tabs and pearls I was probably bothered by the lactose...

Here's another vote for staying away from the liquid ones that are made with alcohol. I had a definite gluten reaction to one brand. It didn't occur to me at the time that the alcohol could be made from grains and I won't make that mistake again!

Count me in on that vote also.

It depends on the person. For some distilled grain alcohol is fine, for others (like me and some others here) it is not.

For someone who makes homeopathics however I would think such a person if anyone would easily get the point of how just a small ppm of gluten can affect some of us quite strongly. Why the homeopathic companies haven't realized this is kind of beyond me since many of them are based in either Canada or Europe where gluten intolerance and celiac are more widely known.

Thanks for the info! Makes a lot of sense. I'm usually one the liquid ones for skin problems and it makes my skin brake out badly, I was always told the body is getting rid of toxins but it will only go better again once of the meds. The last time I was on these meds my skin starting itching severly and got a bad reaction after only taking a little bit.

I always call and verify. I use homeopathics from Native Remedies, I have had no problems with them. It will clearly state it on there too on their label if a product is gluten-free, it will say gluten-free. I don't get anything with alcohol or lactose.

Yes, wheat is common in most soy sauces now because it speeds up the fermenting process.

For 16 years I have relied on the website glutenfreedrugs.com to determine if a pharmaceutical is gluten-free. The website has been down for at least a week. Does anyone have any information about this outage, the status of the website founder and maintainer pharmacist Steven A. Plogsted or a phone number? I did not get a response for my email to glutenfreedrugs@gmail.com in October of 2022. Steven did respond to my emails in 2012. Thanks.

Sounds like you are in the UK. With blood numbers that high, I thought docs in UK would give an official diagnosis without the biopsy. You should ask about that, so you can get support faster.  I'd try to find and print out anything that supports that in your country, get another appointment and take all of it with you. Even in the US now, some docs are doing this, my 19 year old step granddaughter got an official diagnosis here in US with just blood results a few months ago.

Is soy sauce in Korea also made from wheat like it usually is in US? I'd be concerned that even if asking about gluten, they would not be aware of or think of some like that.

That's a good idea. It can at least establish the potential for developing celiac disease and can help people decided between a celiac diagnosis and NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). And it doesn't require a gluten challenge and can be had without a doctor's prescription.
