I remember hearing a while ago that the macarons at Payard Patisserie & Bistro are gluten free? Can anyone confirm this? I also have heard that their flourless chocolate almond cake is too?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went there today and spoke with a few different people. They told me that the Chocolate flourless cake is gluten free but that is made for "special order" only. All of their macarons are gluten free-they come in 5 different flavors (coffee, chocolate, raspberry, passion, pistachio). They also sell huge "flourless and butterless chocolate chip cookies" that are gluten free. The macarons are great...I haven't tried the cookies yet.

This sounds tasty...I'm going to go this week. What's your favorite flavor?

Of the macarons...my favorite flavors were chocolate (I'm a complete chocolaholic) and raspberry.

I also wanted to add that I am going to check again for all of the ingredients in the cookies. I tried one of the cookies after 3 people at the store assured me that they were gluten free. Later that day I had a horrible stomachache, like the ones that I get when I mistakenly eat gluten. The cookie also tasted, in my opinon, too good to be gluten free. However, it may have been from something else that I ate that day or perhaps I was allergic/intolerant to something else in the cookie...since I have a corn allergy.

I finally went, and you're right; the macarons were super. No raspberry or passion ones, but they had blueberry and vanilla instead--pistachio, I think, was my favorite (hard to tell). The chocolate mousse was also very good, if you like your mousse not-too-sweet. To top it off, the waiter we had (we sat in the front) was beyond friendly; he gave us extra macarons to take home. I'll definitely be going back.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
