I've not yet bought masa harina (but will try it). The corn flour I have is BRM. And it is a fine flour, not corn starch. Definitely not cornmeal, which is coarse.

Hmmm...I just search that nearly normal flour mix and foudn the recipe. I have masa harina and it is a very finely ground flour, not like corn meal and not like corn starch either. I'm tempted to try it in place of the corn flour now since I can't use BRM. I will let you know if I do. Masa harina is great from making homemade corn tortillas.

I just posted a whole bunch of recipes on my new blog here on this site! It's basically a mirror of the blog I have on our own website. You can see the blog at The Liberated Kitchen, Redux

All the recipes are 100% gluten-free and fine for the Full GAPS diet. Some of them are fine for earlier GAPS stages, too, though I haven't tagged them as such yet.

Great to see someone as in love with nettles as I am! I have yet to use them in pesto (thanks for the idea!) but I do make at least 10 kinds of pestos (i.e. mint, arugula). The walnut almond butter intrigues me as well. I grow my own garden, forage in our Croatia garden/hedgerows/sea (am a Master Gardener) and make all my own condiments, etc.

Thanks for posting!

I don't believe any of you people are actually making all these yummy things! I am thinking about coming round to your homes to check on the quality of the food! Will require good planning so I don't have to back track. B)

Progressive Dinner, anyone?????? I've never been able to participate in one b/c of eating gluten-free for so long. THAT would be fun.

I've been searching for the link for the meatloaf recipe that included chorizo sausage as one of three ground meats. Anyone remember that one?

That would be one LONG dinner party. I live in VA. You can come to my place for dessert and watch the sun set over the bay though. :)

Tonight we had chicken fried rice and sugar snap peas.

Sounds yummy! Was the naan gluten-free? I would love a good recipe if you can share.

Man, I love authentic ethnic Indian food! Good onion bhajis and naan bread are...well...pretty amazing.

We have curried goat with red and white rice. Individual strawberry shortcakes. Nothing fancy - just good eats!

Yup. Everything I make is gluten-free. I'll have to post it. It's one of Carol Fenster's recipes. Super easy (my husband made it tonight).

I don't know how "authentic" it is, but the bhajis are from my Indian cookbooks. I'll have to run it by my Indian friend and see what she thinks! She may just burst my bubble...

Baked chicken thighs, rice, cauliflower... maybe some asparagus. Nothing exciting here.

Sounds pretty exciting to me. I worked out in the yard and have yet to give dinner a thought. Of course, I don't have to come up with dinner for a family of 7 either. :P

It looks delicious!

I had an egg salad sandwich and potato chips (Lay's Stax). Too tired to do anything else. (Oh, and 2 glasses of Chardonnay. Yum!) :P

We had grilled marinated lamb with brown basmati rice pilaf and sliced fresh GA peaches.

Dessert was a potato vodka smoothie with frozen banana, another fresh peach and a splash of pineapple juice. I liked dessert best. :D

It WAS delicious! My crust did not quite workout the same as the recipe. It was more like dumplings on top than a crust. it was good though. My husband declared it the BEST chicken pot pie he has EVER had and I have not made chicken pot pie for around two years (well before going gluten-free). I could not even taste the coconut milk. Success!

Spent a little too long in the garden and ended up grazing:

2 pea pods (13 beautiful peas), raw

2 handfuls spinach

1 handful green leaf lettuce

assorted nibbles of herbs

(home again)

crunchmaster crackers

pecorino romano cheese (i have got to find other sheep cheese!)

Maybe nothing else.. had to do PT for a cranky knee and it's hot enough that i'm not too hungry. Hmm... I should really eat something else...

It sounds like you're dealing with a complex situation, and I can understand how frustrating it must be not to have a clear answer. Gut health can indeed play a significant role in various aspects of our well-being, including hair health.

I have found similar benefits from thiamine. I was diagnosed with celiac at 16 and never really recovered despite strict gluten and dairy free diet and no detectable antibodies on checkup bloodworks. I’ve tried stopping the b1 but start to feel bad again- I wanted my doctors to do more extensive testing for the different thiamine transporters and enzymes which would be a better indication if I was deficient or dependent on it but everyone dismisses it (there are know genetic mutations where you need to take it daily for life). I have looked into Thiamine Responsive Megablast Anemia and I have a lot of the more mild symptoms of the disease that manifest when thiamine isn’t given to the patient such as optic neuritis… I just find the parallels interesting. i think that celiacs could be a side issue of inflammation that resulted from vitamin deficiencies. I was eating a lot of sugar leading up to my diagnosis and since eating gluten free didn’t make me feel much better, I’m wondering if this was more the underlying issue (sugar heavily depletes b1). I usually take 1.5g thiamine a day.

Thank you for your welcome and reply.  Yes I've been carefully reading labels looking for everything in bold and have been amazed by what I have seen. However Heinz tomato and basil soup is wheat free so I m thinking I already have ulcers?  The acid could be causing the pain . My pain always starts in one place then follows the same route through me . GP confirmed that is the route of our digestive system.  So much pain from stabbing to tearing. If I throw in milk with lactose it's horrific.  Many years of it now, won't go into details but been seeing a consultant for a supposedly different problem . Wondering what damage has been done over the years. Many thanks for your reply. Wishing you the very best.

Welcome to the forum community, @Fluka66! Did you realize that the vast majority of all canned soups use wheat starch as a thickener, including such common commodities as Campbell's tomato soup?

Hello. Any help would really steady my nerves right now. I realised recently that certain food left me in agonising pain so eliminated from my diet. I also have a swollen lymph node. My very caring Dr did some blood tests and I went back the other day to see another equally caring Dr . She looked at the test results one result has come back with something wrong. It came very fast so I'm afraid I didn't catch what it was. Anyway the urgent referral to ENT. She did say as I had already eliminated gluten it wouldn't say anything on the results and neither Drs nor I were prepared to reintroduce gluten . I've just had some tomato soup and again in agony only thinking this must have aggravated maybe existing problems. Does anyone know what I'm facing now ? My swollen lymph node , pain when eating gluten and lactose and I'm assuming the acidity of tomatoes triggering pain.  I'm trying to stay calm and to be honest I've been in intolerable pain at times rendering me unable to stand up straight but I've always just got on with it . Guess I'm reaching out and would really appreciate any wise or unwise words at this stage. Wishing you all the very best as you live with this illness. Fluka66
