For some strange reason -- I want a cookie!!!! Gee thanks L2T ;)

Crock Pots are won-der-ful -- have no idea how we would have made it thru little league years without that thing -- and then Karen suggested getting the small one for traveling -- brilliant :)

"C" is for cookie

that's good enough for me

"Cookie Monster" is also my favorite sesame street character -- well aside from "Oscar"

My crockpot thinger comes in handy the odd time but not for true braising. It does free up another burner! When I use my thinger I feel as though I am cheating.

The macarons do look sorta good, do they not?

I don't mind painting, I highly dislike removing old 70's wallpaper though. The paper comes off, but the glue underneath... <_<

Another one having mac n cheese tonight. My 3 year old hasn't wanted to eat much of anything for the past 3 days and she asked for bunny mac n cheese (Annies) and buffalo chicken so I'm hoping that she will eat at least something.

When I was little, I didn't like much of anything (or would eat the same thing over and over again)

I ate PB and strawberry J sammies for lunch for 3 years straight, or so my Mom claims.

Actually, Grover is my favorite muppet (Oscar is runner-up)

Hey hey hey... Knock it off with all the mac of cheese chatter , please. Some of us can't have aged cheese right now.

crying-girl.gif

yeah, yeah I know

"Go to Lowe's, buy some wood, build a bridge and get over it". Heard that one from Addy this week for the first time ( which is amazing considering I am old and thought I'd heard it all) and it made me "coffee snort " (as Ski says)

Armenian pizza tonight (what the heck is that? you ask) well, it's a savory pizza made with ground lamb, peppers, onions, tom paste  and herbs and I sub in the herbed Chebe dough for the flat bread my Gramma used to make. Works out fine.

And because we have had a sucky week, we deserve a treat so, vanilla and coffee ice cream for dessert. It's Sunday, after all!

Hey, that is what I looked like all weekend! I also need to take my own advice. I am currently (don't kill me) waiting for a huge dish of mac & cheese to come out of the oven. After I polish off the whole thing in about 2 days, I will follow that advice or at least attempt to. *sigh* Can I just say that life without cheese sucks? Someone may need to drag me to Lowe's kicking and screaming.

I also love Grover. I actually have a copy of The Monster at the End of the Book on my shelf. And no, I am not too old to read it just for fun by myself. :P

Addy, for temporary relief of the canker sores you're dealing with right now,

you might try some zinc lozenges. On the rare occasion I get one I hold the

zinc lozenge in my mouth right over the canker sore, two-three times a day.

Usually clears up in less than 48 hours. I've also found that 'normal people'

toothpaste sets off canker sores for me, so now I use Dr Bronner's minty

soap, one drop at a time from a dropper, to brush my teeth. Sounds weird,

but if it keeps me from getting those HORRENDOUS canker sores I'll keep

it up!!!

I forgot to mention, the zinc drop thing (I use the Zand brand) also totally

numbs the canker sore. It doesn't hurt to have the lozenge on it, it makes

it feel better almost right away and leaves it numb for a good half hour.

Zand makes an elderberry zinc lozenge, they're like little hard candies,

only good stuff in them, gluten free, and they're mighty tasty too!

Elderberry? Now you have my attention! My husband was at work all day and I am, quite frankly, high as a kite on lortab, so there was no going to the store for anything. No matter how medically relevant. I'm lucky I can walk to the kitchen. I will attempt to find some in the morning though when the drug store opens. Zinc has an interaction warning with my antibiotic though, so I have to limit its use probably. At least it is only a 3 day antibiotic. When it rains it pours I guess.

Do I need to remind you that you should take PRObiotics after this round of antibiotics, young lassie ? No, I didn't think so; you're no dummy.

I can loan you an umbrella, Calamity Jane  (that was my nickname, but I am giving it to you) ;)

Dinner tonight will be burgers and sweet potato fries and if anyone wants to help us throw stuff into a dumpster,

c'mon over!

Look everyone! there goes SkiLisa taking some things to her Mom.

Hey! I haven't put anything in my eye for like... 3 days! Or done anything else stupid.

Tonight I am roasting my tomatoes to make sauce for pizza tomorrow. Since I can eat whatever I want whenever I want tomorrow. I also have roasted anaheim peppers and I'll roast some mushrooms. My husband doesn't eat tomatoes and I needed to use them up. Plus I have one last pizza crust in my freezer to use. Come hell or high water, I'll find a way to manage solid food tomorrow.

Dinner tonight for me is honeydew. I'm just not more ambitious than that.

Painting could have gotten me, cleaning up not so much. :P

ok...done laughing and this is quite close to how i feel lately -- the men are calling me the bag lady --- because i'm constantly dragging gear in and out of the house -- none of it containing the all important item in this house --- FOOD  :P

Mondays are very long == so I am sitting in my comfy chair whilst hubby makes noise in the kitchen -- dinner will either be meatloaf or ribs -- think i heard breadcrumbs being made in the blender so my guess is meatloaf :)

Hi Dee Ho Good Neighbors....

Today was pretty darn good -- visited Mom early and did her PT with her until we can line up the professionals -- walked out her new front door to check out the neighbors gardens and then when home to begin procrastination of study -- second Biology Midterm -- how can you have two Midterms????  Should be Test #1, Test #2 and Final IMO....while procrastinating I accomplished quite a bit of cleaning and straightening of my patio -- cousin and her daughter arrive tomorrow for a few days and will be very nice to eat dinner out there.

Also added soil ammendment to my shopping bag heirloom tomatoes -- sadly my big plan for my vegie garden has taken a back burner to taking care of folks -- but I did purchase three heirloom seedlings a few weeks back and they now have oodles of little tiny tomatoes -- threw them in the shopping bag upside down growing method to get them planted quickly.  They are hanging happily in the sun on the patio.

Dinner tonight is pork country ribs with mac and cheese -- yep non-vegie sister thinks she can make it over today --- it will be wonderful to have her.

What is everyone having for dinner this evening???

holy crap!  am I sore. We started filling the dumpster today with our old beat up furniture and dusty old stuff that was in the
garage (3rd bay is devoted to all things CRAP  ). I tossed so many things that we're never going to use
(and it is not even worthy of the Salvation Army--that stuff has been put aside)

There was so much wood the hubs had stockpiled for god knows what (building a freakin ark, dude?)
and all his junk in the garage and basement--I mean billions of nuts, bolts, all his bottles for making beer, etc. Tools out the ying yang.

OMG my husband is a certified hoarder.  I could not stop laughing at it all. He says he feels silly now to have saved some of it.

,,,cuz, everyone needs a coffee mug from every city you've been in for work and pleasure, right? er, NO!
Still have 1/3 of the thing left to fill and it will take another day or so. ugh.
I just keep saying "Soon, it will be over and it's one step closer to being where I want to be".

Dinner (and he's lucky I could do anything after all that) was:

Baked chicken

baked potato

corn.

simple. If I can lift my arm now to eat it, I'll be all set. :D

mondays and tuesdays i can usually count on eating alone so i get to 'play with my food' - last night was (rice) flour wrap with turkey, cheddar with peach salsa.  it was yums, so it will move on to round 2 where husband will be the guinea pig taster.  (round 4 is church lunch.  they can all have the cheap 'regular' tortillas :)

i have a 'flat-iron steak' marinating in some asian bbq marinade.  i got it pre-made, on sale and it has smoke flavoring in it - says GLUTENFREE all over the packaging and checked ingredients, but...............  i think my recipe is better :D  we'll see what the guinea pig says.  probly make some noodles - oh, and (lisa?) weren't you on a squash ribbon kick?  oh.  my.  BOB i did some zucchini with a vegetable peeler, and some red onion, too, and tossed them in a honey-mustard vinegarette oh, so good!!!  we woofed that stuff down!!!

I'm also a nurse, but one who has worked in chronic care, and to some extent, it is more satisfying to see patients through to a diagnosis (as opposed to working in the ED), but an accurate diagnosis does not occur not as often as it should! Your posting presents a lot of information. But a couple of things I can respond to. One, celiac disease is diagnosed by endoscopy and biopsy of the duodenum. So, pathology will need to weigh in. It's not diagnosed on gastroscopy. (At least, not as far as I know). Two, did you get blood tests for celiac disease? You will need to be eating gluten in order for those to be accurate. Three, where was the CT angiogram (of what)? I could go on and on, but thought I'd start there.
    • trents
Was a biopsy done when you had your gastroscopy? Concerning your anemia, are you B12 deficient? It's nearly impossible to get sufficient B12 if you are a vegetarian unless you take supplements.
    • Suzi374
And I’m anaemic, however I’m also female and vegetarian. I had an iron trans a couple of years ago however it’s starting to dwindle and taking supplements doesn’t seem to work. I can’t seem to absorb it.

Hi, I attended a neurologist appt last Tuesday, which I nearly cancelled, due to ongoing numbness and tingling in toes to mid foot. One of the first things he asked was ‘are you celiac’. I’m not. He thought all reflexes were ok but at the last minute decided on nerve conduction tests which were low normal. He was a little confused as he felt they should be better and tried a new set of probs, all the time, giving me multiple shocks which were not enjoyable lol. Anyway, he’s now ordered tests for myeloma, and all the vitaminy things that so many of you mention on here, also tests looking for autoimmune responses. I already have Hashimotos. Interestingly, to me, but maybe someone out there can relate or knows more than i do, although I was a nurse, but ED not ‘weird symptoms’  nurse. Anyway back to the interesting thing, I took duramine in 2013 to lose weight which caused a massive panic attack when I stopped taking it and half my hair fell out. I only took it for a week but it was horrible and I regret it. It triggered ongoing panic attacks which are horrendous. So I feel like I’m a bit crazy. Then in 2020 I had this sudden onset of horrible pain when trying to eat a cinnamon roll. It continued and I lost around 20 kgs. I had two gastroscopes and a colonoscopy and they were all normal. I scored a barium swallow and CT angiogram. All normal. The pain subsided a little but I was left with reflux and an awful feeling that I couldn’t get air when I ate some foods. This was not anxiety.  The anxiety was separate and I still maintain this. This was something to do with eating. It was like the air was thick but I wasn’t short of breath. I just had the sensation I was, then it triggered anxiety. Anyway, I had other weird things- couldn’t bend knees to shave legs in shower lol. Knees felt stiff and swollen but they weren’t. Knee WOUld swell up randomly but mri showed minimal issues. A bit of a meniscus degeneration but insignificant. Then the buzzing sensations in my head, the feeling like someone was stabbing me with something sharp. So now, I pre empted his tests, although I don’t think I’m celiac because it should have come up on gastroscopy, I’ve gone off gluten. Since Tuesday last week so 9 days. Since then I don’t appear to be as constipated, I realised I got through today without a nap and I’m not tired, maybe it’s just today and not related but I get very tired normally and sleep straight after work often, I can bend my knees and shave my legs lol, the buzzing vibrating has gone from my head, I had to call and ambulance as my heart decided we were off on a run, but we weren’t running and I’ve been a bit twitchy at bed time when trying to sleep, reflux is improving, I did get the weird suffocating feeling a bit when eating today but not as bad normall. Tingling and numbness still present and I felt like it moved up my legs a bit today but I’m a bit jittery. So I don’t know if it’s celiac disease or a gluten intolerance but I think, and it may be wishful thinking because my symptoms do make life a bit challenging, but maybe I’m feeling better. I don’t feel as cloudy. My thinking feels crisper. Like there’s no buzzing and I’m not fighting to break through the cloudiness now. I hope so much that this may help me feel a bit better moving forward. It would be a miracle as I really have struggled to work and parent and keep the house clean and I’m always anxious and exhausted.  If you get this far, please tell me if you you can relate to any of the above. Oh and tonsils out 5 years ago but before that antibiotics multiple times a year, sometimes intramuscular because they were so bad.  Op was meant to take 30 mins, it took 1.5 hours due to size of them.
    • Peace lily
Im still not gaining weight I’m on a gluten free diet . And still having issues with constapation started priobiocs figured it would help been over two weeks . I guess it’s going to be a long road for me .
