Sex Drive

So I am off gluten for 2 months, but i have had a pretty severe case involving adrenal fatigue, H. Pylori infections and the like. I have been treating the H. Pylori and being off gluten the at the same time. I have not had a very high sex drive over the last few years. Actually it has slowly decreased. However, I understand this is one of the things that can improve with the gluten free diet. I am wondering if there are people out there that went through periods of a highly decreased sex drive during the first few months of detox and healing but recovered it back later in the healing process?

Well, I for one can say it has helped some. But i'm still having issues, so maybe it will get better. After all I went from wanting no sex at all, willing to have it about once every 2 to 3 years to having it about once every 6 weeks. :P

I thought I would ask... are you a male or female?

Assuming that you are male, have you had a blood tested recently to see where your testosterone levels are? The doctor can find that in any rudimentary tests. Low testosterone levels could be a culprit.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
