I am day 5 of a metabolic detox and for the next three days can only eat the following foods:

brocolli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, brussels sprout, red and green lettuce, romaine, spinich, endive, apples and pears (whole or juiced). Can anyone help me with ideas with just these ingredients?

I think this might be a boring and long 3 days, please give me some ideas if you have any.

Are you allowed any salt or oil at all? Most of those ingredients would tear up my insides if I ate them raw but they won't have much flavor if cooked without any seasoning and without an aromatic veggie like garlic, onions or carrots. You could just throuw a bunch of veggies in the slow cooker, roast them in the oven or get some of those microwave steamer bags and steam them. Of you could make a lot of juices to drink with veggies and apples if you have a juicer.

When I saw Kale the first thign that came to mind was Kale chips but those call for oil and salt. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Baked-Kale-Chips/Detail.aspx

Yea, no oil at all had to eliminate those all out yesterday. Doesn't say anything about salt.

It is likely to be boring but you could do a soup of sorts using the veggies. Since you have been recently diagnosed celiac your digestive system may still be quite sensitive and you might want to make sure your veggies and fruits are well cooked so they may be easier to digest. You may be in for a rough few days as many of your allowed items are a bit hard to digest. I hope this regime helps you rather than making you feel worse.

I'm feeling real weak today from this diet and at my worst, I am so jonsing for even just a rice cracker at this point. This is horrible.

I can not even believe how weak I am today and cold. I have our pellet stove on and turned the furnace on and even resorted to a small electric heater on high in my room, this is crazy. Also having the worst pain ever in my right leg, which I have had total knee replacement in, I can barely walk on it.

The fast is getting to me...

Then stop for now as this is doing you more harm than good. Have a plain broiled chicken breast and some rice or a baked potato and a bland veggie.

In addition to the stress this fast is doing to you it is likely you are also going through withdrawl from the gluten. You need your strength right now.

I wouldn't be able to do that detox diet. Those are were the hardest vegetables for me to digest early in my recovery. I was only able to tolerate protein in small amounts when my insides were a mess. I agree with Ravenwood, you probably should stop.

Im still eating gluten because i got a negative biaopsy test but ive been told thag i more than likely still have it because its really hard to detect. Well i drank beer last night and had a poutine today stupid i know and now i feel soooo sick. And only felt really sick after the poutine. Now my question is can your symptoms get worse all of a sudden??  I have many other symptoms thaat read celiac deisease for most of my life. But since all doctors told me you have anxiety ibs and fibro at 28 years old. I just baiscally gave up and figured this was going to be my life feeling like crap for the rest of my life. • I have 2 insurance policies, one with my husband's company and one through mine. I also stretch out the more major work into the next year, so I can make the most use of my benefits. So, a dental implant for me takes about a year for me to complete.  I have the post put in at the end of one year and the tooth made about 6 months later. Honestly, the insurance company probably hates me because I max out my benefits every year. You do what ya gotta do!  I still have to pay for some of the work out of pocket but about 75% gets covered. If you pay cash for procedures then they usually charge a lower price. Haggle with the dentist over price. They like getting cash.
    • Did your doctor check for SIBO, H. pylori, ulcers, etc. when he was obtaining biopsies to check for celiac disease?
