Hmm...I didn't realize there was a gluten free debate. Is this like the Climate Change debate where one side has facts and evidence and the other sticks their head in the sand and hums a Frank Sinatra tune?

How very, very strange.

Well, for those on our side there is no debate, but it seems there is another side which wants to debate it :P

A discussion about climate change does not belong here. I'm sure there is a discussion board somewhere that will welcome it.

Derogatory comments about either side of that debate come close to violating the rules here. Please stay on topic and respect all views, even those with which you disagree, whether they are members here or not.

While I do think there are probably people who do latch on to fads that come around-and it appears that there might be some who could be going gluten free for that reason, I really wish they would have acknowledged how many people have had symptom relief by going gluten free. I am one such person. Believe me, I am the last person to follow a fad. But I have had the most amazing relief of symptoms (mainly gastrointestinal but also depression relief and my head doesn't itch like it used to). What do they have to say about that? They seemed to ignore that aspect.

In this article it seems to be ascribed to the "placebo effect", as in "it's all in your head." But at least they did balance this point of view out a little.

Mine is definitely triggered by inflammation and stress! I do also have arthritis in my spine, but the pain is more in my pelvic area. Im sure i have other food intolerances or other autoimmune isues but the more I focus on it and see doctor after doctor, it just gets worse.  Best thing is get of Gluten! (I also avoid lactose). Try to limit stress and anything that causes inflammation in your body.

Good morning,   I got an email about replies to this post. Some of my doctors had blamed a slipped disc for the pain I had and that contributes, but after meeting with a gastroenterologist AGAIN and trying some lifestyle modifications, I found out I have IBS and can't tolerate corn or excessive fructose to any degree. Cutting out corn AFTER having cut out all gluten containing products was a real pain but I feel much better now!

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.
