Need To Find A Gi Doctor In Alabama Please Help?

Im 34 and have had GI issues for a long time and almost positive I have celiac and now want to get a diagnosis. my faith in doctors is very low and would like this to be hassell free as posible.

What part of alabama are you in? I am newly diagnosed and live in the southeast part of alabama

There are several support groups in Alabama that may help you find a doctor. I live in Huntsville and we have a support group. Let us know where you live. It will also make a difference on your testing if you are already gluten free.

I am in Dotha as well and use Digestive Specialist.....Albares is my dr in the group...do you currently have a dr. you aren't pleased with? I am new to all this, just dx in May 2011 so would love to share swap info if you are interested.

I haven't gone yet, but will be seeing Alberas in Dothan at Digestive Specialists in Dothan next week. I will let you know how it goes. You'll likely have to go to your pcp and get a referral. They could perform the blood tests and then send you to the GI as well. That's what mine did. HTH!
