I've been gluten-free for almost a month now and I know everyone says that McCormick's seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic, etc) are safe but is it ok to just buy any basic salt, pepper or garilic or is McCormick the only brand I can use?

(Single Spices not mixes/blends) Durkee, French's, Kroger's, Lawry's, McCormick, and Schilling are all on my list of safe products.

Most of Tones' and Spice Island single spices are as well. I use them and Kroger brand regularly.

Usually salt is okay. Both Kroger and Morton are gluten-free. Be a little wary of the peppers since they can sometimes have gluten items added.

I use the Simply Organic line of spices, also The Gluten Free Pantry has a line of Spice Blends that are incredible! Even my non gluten-free husband loves them.

I had been using Frontier Herbs & Spices. I contacted them about their products and this is the response.....
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Frontier. Frontier does not add gluten to their products, however it can occur naturally. Spices are naturally gluten free and herbs are not known to contain gluten. We do not test for nor do we specialize our systems to make sure items are free of gluten.
Thank you for visiting our web site and have a good day!

I'm assuming that she's speaking of the extracts they produce.
I do know that they have alcohol free "flavors" such as vanilla.
