Fun With Restaurants

So my cousin was in town for her birthday so I was a tour guide for three days. Which means we ate out constantly. I wasn't really ready yet, but what'r you going to do. Not like they're gonna let me bring an Amy's meal into the restaurant.

First day we had sushi for lunch, that was fine, bland without soy sauce, but whatever.

Second day went to Cafe Laurent on Overland. Waiter was awesome, i got up from the table and talked to him by the kitchen, he helped me with menu and changed a sauce for me. He actually seemed really excited to help and came by a bunch of times to make sure I was happy. My first experience with my little dining card.

Went to Versailles for dinner. Even with my spanish-speaking friend the waiter was completely unhelpful and they started acting like they were going to throw us out. I ordered a really plain chicken dish and crossed my fingers, and all went ok.

Went to the waterfront for breakfast on Venice yesterday. Got the cheese and fruit plate, explained why I didn't want the bread to even come to the table ( she still brought it) and found out three peices of cheese in, they had used the same knife to cut the bread and the cheese. An hour later, I'm doubled over chugging pepto on Venice boardwalk. FUN!

Went to GulfStream for dinner and they were awesome. Took my card to the kitchen, brought back a list of what I could eat and possible substitutions for sauces on the stuff I couldn't - wonderful meal. Also discussed gluten-free booze with the bartender who made me a special drink that was yummy. Vincente's #2.

So I was thrown right into the restaurant thing, got glutened once, but over-all had a pretty good experience. i like the Dining card thing, I think it really help. I need to get it laminated and make copies, but people react well when you have a diagram to give them.

So this is me just talking about food.

Oh- and here at work everyone knows, because I've been sick for months, and they ordered food for a staff lunch, no-one talked to me, I got the menu and called the catering company.

They ordered pasta, bread and brownies. I'm considering boycotting. I don't want a red carpet, but could you at least ask me- or order some salad?

Grrrr.

      Mine is definitely triggered by inflammation and stress! I do also have arthritis in my spine, but the pain is more in my pelvic area. Im sure i have other food intolerances or other autoimmune isues but the more I focus on it and see doctor after doctor, it just gets worse.  Best thing is get of Gluten! (I also avoid lactose). Try to limit stress and anything that causes inflammation in your body.

      Good morning,   I got an email about replies to this post. Some of my doctors had blamed a slipped disc for the pain I had and that contributes, but after meeting with a gastroenterologist AGAIN and trying some lifestyle modifications, I found out I have IBS and can't tolerate corn or excessive fructose to any degree. Cutting out corn AFTER having cut out all gluten containing products was a real pain but I feel much better now!

      So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

      Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.
