Finally Found The Culprit

I've been feeling unwell for a few weeks and trying to find the cause has been killing me, but I think I finally have it. I reread labels on all supplements. The Spring Valley Vitamin E I started on a little while does not list soy as an ingredient, but it is not mentioned along with the things it is free of: gluten, salt, sugar, artificial color or flavor, starch, wheat or lactose.

That got me suspicious so I went to the manufacturer

Vitamins have got me so many times, I am very careful of them now. Good job on finding that issue!

Yep..vitamin E, also called topherol got me too! It took a while to figure out. I get violently ill from soy oil..and lethicin too. I've read that a lot of people don't react to the oil or lethicin..but I guess we are ones who do?

I'm SO glad you figured this out. I know you've been wracking your brain trying to get to the bottom of what was getting you.

Wishing you speedy healing!

OK, I thought I had this figured out, but I got hit again this morning. I've been taking GNC Solotron as my multi-vitamin. The product website states clearly that it does not contain soy. BUT when looking more closely at ingredients, the E is from d-alpha Tocopheryl Succinate. Looking further into that, I found that it was derived from wheat germ, but is now derived from soybean oil. Either way, it is a problem. So are labeling laws in the States.

Hope this helps someone else out there.

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
