Short Menstrual Cycle

I went off my birth-control pills a couple of months ago, and my cycle is all out of whack. Maybe it's too soon to say for sure, but the last two periods I've had have been 17 days apart. This seems a little extreme! I had irregular periods before I went on the BCP but it was never this strange.

Anyone else have this problem? A Yahoo search seems to indicate it could be caused by a thyroid problem - I should probably get checked out for that.

I've been on the pill for a long time. It can take anywhere up to a year for your cycles to adjust after going off (or on) hormonal birth control. This could be competely normal, or it could be a sign of something more serious. I would definitely discuss it with your Gyno.

I was having my P every two weeks... went to the OB/GYN... did tests, etc. I ended up with a hysterectomy (am older than you I am sure). I am sure you don't want that... but it would be best to see your Dr. and see what is wrong. Hopefully your body just needs time to adjust to the lack of BCP. Let us know how you are doing... :)

I know what you mean! I was on Birth Control and took it for about 3 months. Now that I have been off for about 4 months my last two P were really lite and only lasted a few days. Its really weird!

I had a similar experience. When I went off the pill I got my period each month, but it would only last 2-3 days. It's normally 7 days. I've been off the pill for 7 months now and the last 2 months were more regular. Maybe it will just take a little time for your body to readjust.

:) Jen

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
