My daughter eats Ener-G bread. Yeah, she actually likes it. Which is good because she needs to eat a somewhat low carb diet. Currently she is eating the light tapioca. I think that is what it is called. The problem? The slices are so light, the toaster literally hurls them into the air and often we have to search around to find them. It's getting really annoying. You can't just put your hand over the toaster and try to catch them either. Because they are so hot coming out of there.

The image of this just made my morning. I understand it is a real problem, but I can just picture the daily ritual of trying to "catch the toast" every morning. Maybe this is the type of bread that would be better toasted in a toaster oven instead of a pop-up. Good luck! Maybe wear an oven mitt (catcher's mitt...lol) when attempting to place your hand over the toaster. Happy Monday!

If my dog were in your kitchen he would sit patiently & wait (like a bear waits for a salmon upstream) for the toast to magically pop in his mouth (& he wouldn't care if its too hot ) lol.....

That was the obvious solution but we have no toaster oven or a place to put one.

I will look for a butterfly net. They should be out in the stores soon.

As for the spring, that could be it! My toaster doesn't seem to do that but I put wheat bread in it. Hers is a cheap one.

I like Ener-G Tapioca bread, too. When I tried the light version, the same thing happened, although my slices just popped up high enough to end up flat on the top of the toaster.

The light wasn't my favorite. It was like eating air. Also, the loaf was so light, I felt like I was being overcharged.
