This is what thier web site says..

Do any of the Benadryl® products contain gluten?

A: We do not specifically test for the presence of gluten in our products. Therefore, we cannot certify them to be gluten free. While we can tell you that there are no gluten-containing grains added as ingredients in this product, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination with gluten did not occur in the manufacturing process.

Does that sound gluten-free to you, with a slight CYA in it? Need to know if I can give it to my son or not.... Doc had recomded it, but that was before he was determined ot be celiac disease.

That sounds like a CYA to me. I use the dye free liqui-gels from Benedryl without a problem. (Ok, I do sleep through the rest of the night, but that's me and Benadryl for ya... Not a gluten thing. ;-) )

it's a CYA thing... we use Benedryl products all the time... (well not ALL the time, but frequently) and have never had a prob.

My son is allergic to peanuts and now there are so many products that say, "may contain peanuts". There didn't used to be... this has happened in the last couple of years. The lawyers are getting involved.

This trend will continue, I assure you. We usually take our chances when the product says, "manufactured with other peanut-containing products) and haven't had any problems. It seems to be CYA.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?
    • Aussienae
I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
