I am new to this forum so please forgive me if I have not done something correct. We are traveling to the Outer Banks in N.C. and was wondering if someone could recommend good places to eat.

There is an Outback and Five Guys Burger chain that offer gluten free options.

Most restaurants are privately owned and operated. Some of my frequent joints are:

High Cotton BBQ - great ribs and brisket (gluten-free)
Black Pelican - super shrimp and grits, lots of local seafood
Blue Moon Cafe and Grill - salads or they will custom prepare for you
Ocean Boulevard - awesome food but pricey
Tortuga's Lair - Caribbean style
Long Cedar Restaurant - dedicated french frier

You can find most on the internet with contact information. I would call ahead during non busy hours (but their always busy during the high season)

Harris Teeter and Food Lion carry gluten free staples.

Also try to google "Outer Banks Gluten Friendly Restaurants":

It's lovely this time of year. Enjoy!
