I have celiac disease and I'm going to the gulf coast to help provide disaster relief after hurricane Katrina. I'll be part of a medical team and where I get sent depends upon whether or not MREs are gluten-free. I can't find any factual information about whether red cross or military MREs are truly gluten free...does anyone know for certain? Or even have a good guess?

thanks for any help/input

Some of them may be but alot I have seen are not. My cousins who went through a Hurricane down there last year were provided with MRE's and they brought some up here with them and I read the label and pretty much everything had wheat in it. There could be some but I wouldn't expect it.
Be safe down there helping :D
