So Over The B Vitamins
Posted 01 July 2012 - 11:48 AM
I used to think this feeling was from some CC or "healing" phase, but nope. Only happens when I take the Bs. I think a lot of people may not realize that adding stuff like supplements can wreck and already sensitive GI system and you may not be able to tell if you are healing from the gluten because of that supplement response.
Eventually I may get tested or try it in many months from now, but for now, so long B vitamins. Enjoy the toilet flush so I will not take you again without remembering the ick you cause.

They most certainly cause stomach distress and CAN ACCUMULATE in the body and cause toxic levels. Too much B6 will cause parasthesia for example. I had burning nerve pain from too much B-12 and B-6.
No one wants to hear it. Yet, I am living proof.
My doc saw my extremely high results and said STOP TAKING THOSE RIGHT NOW!!!
All that burning and nausea went away. My levels are normal now.
Everyone should get tested for B vitamin deficiency BUT if you are NOT deficient, you need no more than what is in a good multivitamin.

Misdiagnosed for 25+ years; finally DXed on 11/01/10. I figured it out myself. Double DQ2 genes. This thing tried to kill me. I view Celiac as a fire breathing dragon --and I have run my sword right through his throat.

I hope this does not come off sounding too negative, but I do not think anyone who sees the physician and has been diagnosed for Celiac should be megadosing on any vitamin or taking more than a multi without a test. It just does not really make sense to me. I kind of get it if you are just not going to the doctor although it is ill-advised. The thing is that if you already see the doctor...well..while you are there. Once you have that test, you know for sure what you need or do not need and whether or not it is worth taxing your system to take.

I find that multivitamins all seem to contain hundreds & hundreds of % over what you need. Why do they go so gonzo on them? Seems like overkill to me.
