Just Had 4 Bites

So on Sunday (it is now friday) I thought that I had grabed a gluten-free ice cream...do you ever notice that the world flour does not stand out until about the 4th bite in. Well I was re-reading the ingredients....I always read ingredients when eating something even if I have had it a million times. Anyeays so there was wheat in it. That next day my stomach was bloated and I felt uncomfortable but nothing too bad. Then came the headaches and yesterday my back hurt so bad I was in tears! My hair is starting to fall out again and I have such bad brain fog. The other day I forgot my parents home phone number which has been the same since I was a little girl. I missed work and have a chance of getting laid off and missed 2 test at school. All because I had 4 bites of ice cream. Its not fair and nobody understands. They all just look at me and shrug their shoulders. Its like I am crying for help to them and they cant hear me or dont care to listen. Sorry needed to vent a litlle thanks guys.

I'm sorry that you got glutened by ice cream. It can be so easy to overlook those ingredients, I know, which is why I'll often read them over, slowly, two or three times! Would a doctor's note to your workplace help at all?

I am so sorry that happened to you, but I completely understand. Not only do you miss the obvious ingrediants, but it is so easy to justify eating something with ingrediants that don't sound alarm bells ("well, spices wouldn't have wheat, they'd have to say that".......mistake). I've been there so many times. I am in the process of writing a paper for my degree program and it is going so slowly b/c I've not only been glutened several times but b/c I think I have other allergies that mimic being glutened. Its awful. I hate it and my heart goes out to you. Unfortuneately, I don't have any advice for you...except maybe as said above about a doctor's note. But, how well will a teacher/employer understand and how many notes will they accept?? I have not idea....... If we can educate more people on our condition, maybe others (employers, teachers) will accept/understand our condition more. Good luck and know that you aren't alone.

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
