The other day I made a snack with dried cranberries, almonds, walnuts, and it needed a little something extra. So at the grocery store I see shelled sunflower seeds, and I thought "Perfect" a little salt with a little crunch with the sweet. So I poured the bag in, and then, only then looked at the ingredients. You would think it would read "sunflower seeds and salt." But, NO, it has WHEAT STARCH and a whole bunch of other crap in it. Can't they just leave things alone!!

I know what you mean, I have found wheat starch in the oddest places! It gets very frustrating!!! Hang in there

It is amazing the places where you find gluten. I never thought that my favorite hair spray would have wheat starch in it, but it does. You have to read every label to be sure. This disease can be frustrating.

No... everything MUST have wheat in it or a dash of bread crumbs ;)

Believe it or not... I've found that the cheaper store brands of things like BBQ sauce and spaghetti sauce have less crappy ingredients and added modified food starch than many of the fancier brands. I always look there first.

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
