How Long Do Results Usually Take?

I am in Ontario, Canada and I had the tTG test ordered for me and did the bloodwork Friday morning, September 28. All of the other bloodwork came back on Tuesday (CBC, vitamins, etc) but when I called to the dr today they said that they still had not received the results of the celiac test. So how long does it normally take? I would just like to know one way or the other. I am still feeling terrible all the time and I would at least like to know if there is a reason.

They do take longer than other tests, especially if they do the EMA, but it really depends on the lab. I have heard of tests that took up to two weeks  I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but hey, yours will probably come back sooner. :)

Can you call the lab and ask how long it will take to release the results?

What lab did you go to? Gamma dynacare is a 4 day turn around for TTG. By the way did you have to pay anything for the TTG test alone or was it covered by OHIP?

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.

Hmm interesting I just assumed that any “IGA” tests including the DPG iga would be negative in a person who is IGA deficient but maybe that is not the case for the DPG test.

If you were just diagnosed I can say that if you go 100% gluten-free should should see dramatic improvement of your symptoms over the next few months, but the hard part is to stay gluten-free. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
