Not an error, but a request. The thread post text is very light and low contrast now. It would be easier to read if it had more contrast or was darker text.

Being able to read the thread during replies is a real nice change! :)

Expermienting with changing text color to make it more readable. (bolded)

I think the blue works best. Bold font would work well too.

Yes. Darker text would be lovely. Also, the Multiquote and quote buttons look blurry.

I like the 'turn off signature' option.

I hate it when websites show their "new and improved" version as smaller print, lighter in color, with a more busy background and even more avatars scattered around. And now there is a doubled headed thing to the left of this reply box which seems to say I am a couple or a two headed turtle, and I am posed with a male borg-type creature, with no eyes, nose, or mouth. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I couldn't get on the site all day and way into last night, so at least I've been reconnected to the Mother Ship. The icon "smiley faces" selection is not as clear, crisp and sharp as it used to be. They could stand to be spread out, also. They look a bit smaller, but I'm not sure of that.

On the plus side, the text I am typing right now in this box is readable.

Looking at another page, it seems that the "member since" information under each avatar box on the left to each post is also missing.

I'll look into these. If you need the spell checker try using the Google Chrome browser (it is free), as the browser's spell check features are working in Chrome.S

When clicking on the box (with the pencil through it) to find new posts since my last view, there seems to be an exaggerated delay.

Spell check would be great option, that I depend upon.

And I too would like a darker print image.

Not a bug . . . just an asthetic kinda thing . . . and I hope I can explain this . . .

The "box" that all these posts are in looks undersized. It looks like it should be the same size as the "box" that the header is in which would provide room for margins. The right justification/left justification in this "box" is right on the edge with no margin . . . did that make sense?

I agree on the blurry looking MultiQuote/Quote buttons . . . color change?

I like being able to see the previous posts (even when I'm quoting someone).

I like being able to see how many and who are following a thread . . . maybe that was around before and I just didn't know it ;)

I like that the search function can be confined to just a thread or just a forum.

really like the preview button. The tags are interesting too. Is that new? Or did no one ever use them before?

The tags are new. Not yet sure how to take advantage of the feature as a poster, or as a searcher.

The preview was there, but it was really hard to find--you had to hover your pointer over the topic title and then slide right where there were some dimmed icons, one of which was the preview. It is now easy to find.

For those of you who used the little green dot icon for information about the poster, or who wondered when they joined or were last active: hover your pointer over the poster's name at the top of the post (not the photo in the post). A pop-up will appear with (among other things) the member's join date and last active time, and a button to send a message.

I have been told that email board notifications will begin again once you have marked your watched topics as read (past tense). I assume that if you mark the entire board as read all email notifications will begin again.

Take care,

Scott

I just darkened the fonts, if you don't see this try the refresh key. Also, the lost password feature works should you want spell checking bad enough to switch browsers.

Much easier to read! Thank you!

I think I'll just stick with questionable spelling. It'll keep me from becoming too reliant on technology.

Sheesh! No! What I meant was that any question where the person did not know was not "dumb." Some answers are not helpful but that was a general observation and was not meant to e a reference to anything in this or any other topic here on the forum. I was a paraphrase of something I heard many times from one of my high school teachers.

I see darker print !!! I'm not really going blind after all. Just age related cranky. Thanks !

Safari seems to have spell checker wurking. For some wurds, not udders.

Somewhere there is a Password Valhalla, where old passwords go to the Summerlands. The password hints go to the meadows of Folkvanger which is ruled by the Norsk goddess Freyja, who keeps asking the new arrivals the maiden name of their browser.

    • Should I get tested for Celiac Disease?
I'm glad you got the biopsy done & have a definitive answer! Welcome to the club you never wanted to be a member of but you will persevere & and flourish.
    • Newbie: mother to coeliac kids
You surely have a special family there. Hooray for your eldest son making sure his brother is safe. That's a huge reflection on the way you raised him mom. Good job! Your poor boy is probably going to feel icky for a while with that kind of damage. Also, for the first 6 mos. - a year, we can have ups & downs like being on a roller coaster. Some great days & then BOOM, you have a totally crappy day or 2 or 3. Well cooked everything for him. Mushy veggies, mushy cooked fruits, go very easy or not at all on spices for a while, keep up the bone broth, crock pot stews and soups. You're doing a great job Midwitch, it takes a while to get all the rules down and by that I mean besides the gluten free rules -- the tailored to the individual rules and they will change as he heals so you'll be adapting all along the way.  Once everyone is tested it might be easiest to take the household gluten free and the kids who can eat gluten can do so outside of the home. It sure does make things easier especially with your large crew and you a working single mom.
    • Villous atrophy with negative tTG IgG/IgA, high Gliadin IgA!
Clearly the doctors need to establish what is causing Villous atrophy.  My villious atrophy was caused by parasites. This also temporarily raised my Gliadin antibody IgA levels but normalised after treatment.   A celiac gene test might be helpful in ruling out Celiac.
    • Sjogren's, Celiac, or both?
Yes, you absolutely need to be tested for Celiac!  Sjogren's seems to be another close friend to Celiac, unfortunately, and if your SSA was positive, then you have Sjogren's. I have both diseases and found myself that my Sjogren's symptoms calmed down once I had been gluten-free for awhile.  I still have moderate symptoms but they were almost unbearable pre-Celiac diagnosis.  The fact that your symptoms greatly improved on the gluten-free diet speaks volumes and should be looked into. I am terribly sorry about your miscarriage. That has got to be so tough to deal with. Miscarriage is another problem that can occur with Celiac because of the vitamin deficiencies and other reasons.  It is very important for you to rule Celiac either in or out if you want to try and have children. Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask away!
    • Blue Bell Ice Cream Recalls Mispackaged Rocky Road Pints
Blue Bell Ice Cream Recalls Mispackaged Rocky Road Pints That Contain Cookies 'N Cream Ice Cream; Potential Allergy Concerns For Those With Wheat and Soy Allergies. Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling select lots of Rocky Road pints produced in its Brenham, Texas, plant because they may be mispackaged and actually contain Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream. That ice cream contains the undeclared allergens soy and wheat, which may present a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction risk to people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or wheat. The pints can be identified as a Rocky Road pint with a Cookies 'n Cream lid, and contain Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream. They can also be identified by the following code located on the bottom of the pint: 022918576. http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm499122.htm?source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery

Hi There, I don't know if there is a place for videos in the forum. I just watched "The Truth About Gluten" I think it is a good video. I would like to share it somewhere but don't know where it should go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the link if you have never watched it.

Hello! I am new to this Celiac website... Is there anyone out there with Celiac AND extensive food allergies? My allergies include shellfish, dairy, eggs, cantaloupe, kiwi, mango, nuts, oranges, red dye, and more I can't think of. I went to the allergist about a year ago to see why I wasn't feeling well, and once everything was eliminated, I still didn't feel well. We did more testing to find out I had celiac as well as allergies to cattle as well as rye grass (I live on a farm basically). This was back in January 2016. I recently had my endoscopy with the gastroenterologist a week ago. I have no idea what to do or what to eat... So fish and potatoes for me!
