There are no dumb questions. Dumb answers--well, I'm not going there. :o

You apparently have not worked in tech support... :D

It would be nice if you could jump to the next new post in a topic that you have already read or posted in instead of having to sort through the whole thing again. Maybe there is a new way, and I just haven't figured it out yet.

Click on the blue folder in front of the thread name and it will take you to the first unread (by you) post in that thread. If you just let your cursor sit on the blue folder, it will even tell you than.

Thanks, it worked but only on ones I haven't read that are dark blue.

If it isn't dark blue that means there are no unread posts. The information is current as of when the page was displayed. You can refresh to get an update.

Makes sense. I'll blame it on sleep deprivation and after effects from surgery. :P That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I cannot post things from my nook tablet (i think it uses opra?). With the old forum i could tap the box and just type away. Now I cannot. All of the buttons work on it, but the box won't :(

I think you need to clear your cache. I googled "opera nook tablet clear cache" and got simple instructions.

If you can't finnd them I can copy them for you when I am on pc rather than cell.

There could be issues with the green buttons at the bottom of posts...I am still working on them, but I haven't tested them on different platforms. Let me know.

Not the End of the World but close.... I wish we could get the smileys and the editing features of italics, colors, etc on the iPad. I could get them before.

Spell check on Firefox is now working. Thank you!

The whole site, and individual threads load very slowly. I haven't seen this difference in other forums so I don't think it's me. Slow, as in: click on a thread, open a new tab, go to Yahoo, find a story to read, then check to see if C.com has loaded.

Same here. Very slow.

Also, I get "Firefox prevented this site from redirecting to another page". My FF recently crashed and I completely reloaded, so couldn't tell you about previous behavior in this regard. I get the above statement for a lot of sites, so it's not c.com specific.

Also, I had a post disappear. It was the one for which spell check worked. Spell check is NOT working on this post, so I assume it will be fine.

Hmmmmm . . . well, it is Halloween.

Slow here, as well . . . not outrageous . . . but slower than pre-update.

Also . . . just a suggestion . . . you might want to move the Report button or change it's color as you might get some unintentional reports by people who are just trying to quote/reply . . . but maybe not.

I was going to suggest that, too. But then the power went off at the server! Maybe we could make the "report" button red?

As it is, it is rather err... prominent

Just an update:

I cleared both my catch and cookies on my tablet. Now i can't log it on it (huh? o.o) and while it will sometimes let me click the text box, it refuses to pop up the keyboard. Mind you it works just fine on any other forum site and the search function on this one.

I just don't get it.

I have "new posts" on my favorites bar. It usually shows threads with new posts made within the last 24 hours. It was working fine before the power outage yesterday, but this morning page one shows threads from 2006. When I go to pages two and three everything is fine, then if I click back on page one I get new posts like normal. I didn't even notice until I had read half of the "new threads" that they were six year old threads. So, can you fix page one, and while you're at it, can you fix my unobservant, muddy brain?

As Jess mentioned earlier and as I added my "two cents worth", venturning from thread to thread is VERY slow. Perhaps, it's storm related.

I had the same thing happen. Cleared the cache/history and I'm back in business. (I'm using Firefox)

    • Thanks.  This is very helpful.  Our first post diagnosis grocery store trip took several hours, just trying to read labels to make sure everything is safe.   Our son loves bread and this going to be the hardest part.
    • i would agree with most of your assessment but overall the popular chefs are very aware. Ed Kenny at Town did have  gluten-free options on the menu.  Mavro's will fix something special given advance notice but its expensive.  excellent but very expensive.  Alan Wong is very aware and will have his staff prepare something as well.  We did find many options at both Oahu  whole foods -- mostly  with tofu. the only thing  there is to be aware of cross contamination with things  next to it.  they make a great gluten-free southwestern tofo dish which is great but not if its sitting next to anything with gluten. Its not whole foods but people use the smae  spoons and tongs i found more at   down to earth in peal city than by  University ave
    • Hi,  I'm in KOna but my kaiser doctor just retired  who was pretty good about it. I dont know of a specialist here  but most of hte kaiser docs wil test you if thats when you need to talk to them about. good luck
    • Yes.  And wouldn't it have been nice if your doctor had tested you for Celiac disease before you went gluten free? Then you would know if your issues are Celiac or not.  That would help you know how careful you need to be, what other illnesses and problems to look for, whether you might be passing a genetic disease on to your children, if you should look for another cause of your symptoms, etc
    • I would be very careful in giving this kind of advice, she is in an advanced stage. I was there and one additional symptom that I was getting was a strong urge to commit suicide so eating gluten for three months might not be the way to go for some people. If a gluten free diet stop the problems them gluten is the problem or a least part of it. I eliminated MSG from my diet because I notice that the common denominator for some products that affected my well being was MSG. I eliminated oats because I notice that I would get canker sores every time I ate it. Wheat is what affect my brain the most, irritability gets uncontrollable, my mental capacity greatly diminish, rash in my arms appear, can't sleep, etc. Barley makes my stomach groan, and constipated. Will try testing how Rye affect me some later time.
