The Results Are In...i Think

I just got my test results back today and I'm a little confused. It doesn't look like I was tested for all 5 of the antibodies that I've seen many of you talk about here. This is what my results look like:

ENDOMYSIAL ANTIBODY: <1:10; Reference range <1:10

The name of the test on the report is listed as "ANTI GLIADIN IGG IGA ANTIBODIES". Does this mean that I don't have Celiac?

Also, I don't know if this matters or not, but I got my stool tests back too and it stated that there was a moderate amount of yeast in my stool.

My next GI appointment isn't until October 19, so I was wondering if anyone out there has any input.

Some people have yeast intolerances and/or allergies that can mimic celiac disease symptoms. I don't know what yeast in the stool means, but when I saw this, the yeast intolerance thing came to mind. I don't have this condition, but maybe someone out there does and you two can compare isses/symptoms.

Hmmm - I never really thought of that before (but then again, I would have never guessed that Celiac disease could have been a possibility either). So, does anyone know anything about the "ENDOMYSIAL ANTIBODY" results? Why does everyone else seem to have whole-numbered results while I have a ratio? Thanks again!

Sorry to keep rambling on, but I also noticed that on the "FECAL LEUKOCYTES" part of the test (which was part of the stool sample), it stated "FEW PMNS (0 to 2 per OIF). I don't know if that is significant or not either...

Hi i am just newly diagnosed with GI as well. Its all very confusing. I live in New Zealand and we dont get to see results as such. My doctor phoned me yesterday with my results. ive serched the net but really must be looking in the wrong place. My igG level has come back where on our scale it goes from 0-20 with 20 being bad my score was 80. My docter said she has never seen such a high score before. Does anybody have any thorts that mite help? Does it mean i probably have other intolerances as well? WOuld welcome any suggestions :)

Since you have a moderate amount of yeast in your stool you may have a yeast overgrowth. This can be treated with antifungals such as Nystatin. Overgrowth can occur when their is an upset between the balance of yeast and beneficial bacteria in the gut.

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
