Enjoying the A.C right now.  The real trouble starts later into the afternoon.  The heat kicks up thunderstorms, and there is a risk of losing power.

Jestgar Rising Star

I'm doing both the Rotary Auction and The Ovation production right now.  Weekend days spent in a large room full of dishes... evenings spent on a platform in a little closet that smells like teenage boys.

I have chicken stories...

Two moms with chicks two weeks apart.  I looked in the coop last night to see if mom and older chicks were already roosting and no longer using the nest.  Discovered the silkie (mom with younger chicks) up on the roost and the other hen on the nest with all the kids.  Older kids are so big that just their heads fit underneath and their backsides stick out.  It looked so weird to see a white hen sitting on a black feather pillow that I stared at them for probably five minutes before I figured out that it was a chicks butt coming out from under her chest.

I wish you could all be teleported!!! Em & family have been in Mass. since Wednesday. Poeter & Jacquie left this morning. The rest of us are heading up tomorrow. We're meeting for dinner at 5 at Joe's in Peabody (giving you all the details in case anyone decides to take an unplanned trip). We will hijack the restaurant with our psilliness. After rabble rousing til closing we'll get some sleep before reconvening for brunch at the Fireside Restaurant in Brookline section of Boston. There will be much laughter, tears, and hugs (and hopefully plenty of picture's. All of you will be in our thoughts and conversations.

Love & (((hugs)))

An Excited Loey

Even chickens like to hire a baby sitter occasionally!

Eat some good food for me in Boston! Will be expecting pictures and some tales of raucous behavior!

We are leaving first thing in the morning! Watch for pics on FB-- I so wish *all* of us could be there....

About the pics--it's very rainy and humid here in the northeast, so pay no attention to my hair. <snort>

This can be the First Annual Psilly Psummit to be followed by many more (perhaps Ellen will still answer Em's email). You will all be sorely missed  :(

P.S. Poeter & Jacquie arrived safely.

I'm stacking random piles of items to be packed but haven't actually started packing yet. I really want to sleep but am still too excited. We will keep you posted on the psummit.

Trust me you will all be missed!!! We will all drink a toast to everyone who couldn't join us.

We're on our way to Boston as I type. I hope this will be the first of many Psilly Psummits!! We couldn't have done it without Bev. She found and booked our dinner & brunch. And we were all staying in different cities. No easy feat!

Check for updates!!!

Love & (((hugs)))

I have three of the plump little meat chickens left (for another month anyway) and two of them are roosters.  Well, two roosters is too many in most chicken books and these guys decided to have it out.  Picture two sumo wrestlers wearing chicken suits stomping around in circles.  They managed one circle, puffed up their neck ruff, then plopped down, because standing is way too much trouble....

I do too.....but I think this one may not end well for the " plump little meat chicken".

Chicken reality is so much better...well....maybe not for the chickens.....

I am afeared of what will happen when the Tom turkey reaches sexual maturity.  The little silkie rooster could be in for a tough time.

Hi dear psillies, hope you're having a wonderful 4th of July!

Judy (Lockyer) wanted me to let you all know she's having surgery tomorrow. She would appreciate prayers, positive energy or any other good thoughts you can send her. She didn't feel up to posting (and also didn't want to post something unpsilly here). She misses her Psilly pfamily.

Love,
Loey

So, I contacted Scott Adams, the author of that article and also the creator/admin of this website, and pointed out to him the need to clarify the information in the paragraph in question. He has now updated the paragraph and it is clear that the DGP-IGA does serve the purpose of circumventing the false negatives that IGA deficiencies can generate in the tTG-IGA antibody test.

Has anyone experimenced enlarged lymph nodes with celiac? Both in the neck and groin area. Imaging of both areas have said that lymph nodes are reactive in nature. However, they have been present for months and just wondering how long this may take to go down. Been gluten-free for about two months. Blood counts are normal.
    • Kmd2024
Hmm interesting I just assumed that any “IGA” tests including the DPG iga would be negative in a person who is IGA deficient but maybe that is not the case for the DPG test.
    • Scott Adams
If you were just diagnosed I can say that if you go 100% gluten-free should should see dramatic improvement of your symptoms over the next few months, but the hard part is to stay gluten-free. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
