Oh my word!!!! I didn't think it was that far along even. Hope the trials go as planned.

I'll go be the guinea pig for this test. You get to eat all the gluten you want and pop a pill. Sounds like heaven.

I guess there is always the chance I could grow a second head or something.

On a serious note I hope this works!!!

They're still pretty early in this. I'd expect a minimum of another five years of testing, perhaps 10 before it reaches market. They're only testing safety right now, so we won't get any numbers on effectiveness until the next set of testing that's done.

Call me blonde, but I don't get it. What's the drug? How does it "work"? I didn't see anything in the article that explained anything, other than they were starting the testing.

I'm not blonde by the way.

That is the drug company's website....They have some interesting information. Dr. Fassano works with them, which I thought was promising.

Oh yeah...it'll take a long time to get approved and everything, if it works. But it's a big step. It will definitely be at least 5 yrs. before we can expect to see anything if we do by then!

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?
    • Aussienae
I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.
    • trents
What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
