Topics I've Started

12 October 2006 - 12:43 AM

Has anyone else had problems with not getting a period for a very long time? I have not had one (except for when I was on the pill for a while) in quite a while. I know I'm at a low weight right now and that could be part of the problem, but I don't get it even after gaining some weight. I don't know if I ever want to have kids but I would at least like to have the option. Is this something that is common with celiac disease or should I be more worried and see the doctor about it?

What Should I Do?

10 October 2006 - 11:42 AM

These last few days have been horrible. Went off gluten in march, dairy free for years, and went off soy and corn about a month or so ago. Was doing mostly ok eating just fruit, vegetables, and meat as all grains seemed to upset my stomach. But then suddenly I have had D for the past few days no matter what I eat. And I'm losing weight again...just when I had finally started to get back to normal. I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment, but that's going to take a while. Would it be that bad to just not eat today? It's not like anything is staying in anyway  I just don't know what else the problem could be...I've cut out every food I can think of that would be the problem and I am very careful about the things that I do eat (very paranoid about cc :P ) Oh yeah...and I've only slept about 2 hours each night.

Help!! Any ideas?

Losing Hair

09 September 2006 - 02:16 PM

I have been seeing a lot more hair in the shower drain recently. I pull so much out just washing my hair. My stomach has not been feeling very good recently either as I have not been very careful about avoiding soy. Could this be causing my hair loss or should I be more concerned and see the doctor?

Sleep Disorders

30 August 2006 - 09:20 AM

When I was little I used to get "night terrors" three or four times a night and would sleepwalk a lot. The doctor said that kids outgrow them around ten years old...but mine continued even after college...they put me on klonopin for a while. They pretty much went away after a while but I would still scream in my sleep every once in a while. So now I find that gluten can cause sleep problems. I have been gluten free since March...but I'm wondering if soy intolerance can maybe cause this too. My husband said I screamed a few nights ago...right after I had eaten soy chips for the first time in weeks. I also got the worst migraine I've ever had after eating them. I haven't had any gluten so could it be the soy?

Healing...how Long Does It Take?

25 August 2006 - 07:11 AM

I know that everyone is different, but in general how long does it really take before your intestines are "normal"? I think I'm impatient...I do really well about only eating fruits, vegetable, and meat for a week and feel so good and start trying other things and immediately feel terrible (I have a weakness for any dessert :P ) It feels like anytime I eat any kind of grain or legume I get sick. Does it just take a long time for things to improve?
