Topics I've Started

Enterolab Testing

09 July 2004 - 03:33 PM

I've been gluten-free for over 3 months now. The only testing I had was blood tests that proved Celiac. I've never done the biopsy. Now I've heard that the blood tests may not be the most reliable way to detect Celiac and that Enterolab is better. My question is: Is it possible to get accurate results using Enterlob even though I've been gluten-free for 3 months already? I REALLY don't want to go back on gluten just for a test. Thanks!

Tmi Question

05 July 2004 - 09:18 AM

I have been gluten-free for a little over 3 months now. Last night and now again this morning when I go to the bathroom it is oily orange stool and oily discharge. Sorry to have to ask about this I know its gross! I just don't know how else to ask. I have never had this happen to me before going gluten-free and have never had it happen since going gluten-free until yesterday. Anyone have any clue as to whats going on? I have also had some abdominal bloating and gas the past few days as well. Thanks in advance. And again sorry about the TMI.

Little Broken Capillaries Under The Skin

06 May 2004 - 06:43 AM

I had these little red broken capilarries under my skin on my arm 2 weeks ago. There was just a few and they went away in a day or 2 so I didn't really give it a second thought. Last night I noticed that I had a few by my elbow on the other arm. I have never seen these on my body before. I am currently almost gluten-free for 5 weeks and I have been on a detox rogram for the past 5 weeks as well. Does anyone know if this is a symptom of celiac disease? Thanks.

First Time Out To Eat Since Diagnosis

23 April 2004 - 05:29 AM

I went out to eat for the first time since being diagnosed. I asked for plain grilled chicken with nothing on it at all. They put it on top of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. I had them bring oil and red vinegar to the table. That was all I ate there. I woke up the next morning feeling so sick. But not with gastro symptoms like I have heard many of you talk about. I felt extremely tired, muscle aches and pains, a little dizzy and headachy. Is this a normal reaction? And what do you think I reacting too? I was pretty sure everything was gluten-free. I've only been on the diet for about 3 weeks. I was starting to feel a little bit better until this happened. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
