In Topic: Casein And Soy Free

16 May 2007 - 09:53 AM

whole foods has a line of chocolates that are soy free so i think that the dark chocolate ones are also casein free. i get the milk chocolate ones.
they are the only chocolates i have ever found that do not have soy lecithin (which makes me REALLY REALLY REALLY sick)

I have been asking if anyone has soy allergies and just read your message, I think also dairy or lactose for me, i will mention it to the Dermatologist and see what he thinks, I itch and scratch, burning skin, feel sick.

In Topic: What Are The Effects Of A Soy Allergy?

01 May 2007 - 06:19 PM

I am having the same problem with soy, sulphites, etc, getting hives and my rash gets very red and itchy and I am on low dose Prednisone, never had a food allergy in my life, until now.

Hi, can someone here with a soy intolerancy please tell me if the effects are the same as being glutened...i'm trying to figure out if soy is causing all of this extra gas  .

In Topic: Is This Dermatitis Herpetiformis? (pics Inside)

April, what you are describing sounds a lot like psoriasis to me (especially with the thickening skin.) My elbows do the same...and that is what the dermatologist said sounds like psoriasis (rather than eczema that I was diagnosed with many years ago.) For some people, their psoriasis gets better with a gluten-free diet.

The "DH" lesions, on me, react differently, and leave dark marks that take a long time to fade (I'm fair-skinned too), but the skin does not thicken. Maybe I'm just all confused now...I've got so many different skin issues going on that I'm not sure what is what anymore.

In Topic: Rash

24 April 2007 - 01:59 PM

Hi I'm new to the site and wanted to tell you a little about what's going on with me.
I had a big surgery on my back a year ago and I developed a rash and many infections, virus's etc. the rash was all over my body, tiny blisters and terrible itch, driving me insane, I would scratch so much I was bleading and taking off the scabs over and over, my GP said he hadn't seen this rash before and though of shingles, herpes, infection from my bone graft, sent me for every blood test, all negative thank goodness, then I was so sick, vomiting and diarreah, I got to see a Dermatologist, he said, you have Dermatitis Herpetiformis, with out a doubt, I said I had flat red lesions in my small intestine and was told 14 years ago it was Celiac the bowel biopsies came back negative ?? so the Dermatologist took biopsies of the blisters and normal area, it came back negative, I told him I didn't eat a lot of the foods he mentioned, as they bothered me, he said that sounded like I was already avoiding Gluten, without realising, I have had blood tests and more biopsies and still negative, I cannot come off the Pnrednisone as the rash is back in minutes ???? he has took me off medications Iv'e been on for years trying to eliminate other allergies ????
