Castleberrys Beef Stew

21 December 2004 - 01:08 PM

I wanted to let everyone that is looking for a quick and hearty beef stew in a can that Castleberry's Beef Stew is gluten free. I called the company this morning and the modified food starch is corn derived. Yipeee...

Blue Diamond Almonds

09 November 2004 - 01:24 PM

I wrote to Blue Diamond Almonds to find out which products are gluten free. The response is below. I am so excited that the smokehouse are gluten free. Happy Days!!

Dear Emily, Yes. Here is a list:

Gluten free items are: All flavors of Almond Breeze®; Nut Thins® Crackers (Nut Thins® Crackers are packed by an outside co-packer and contain the following message on the label: " Produced in a facility that also produces wheat products. Nut- Thins may contain treenuts and/or peanuts." The lines are thoroughly cleaned according to GMP’S (Good Manufacturing Practices). No gluten has been added to our Blue Diamond® Nut Thins® Crackers).

Whole Natural Almonds; Roasted Salted Almonds; Smokehouse® Almonds; Barbecue Almonds and Honey Roasted Almonds (except they have cornstarch) are all gluten free.

I have been gluten-free for 6 months now with minimal cheating. I have actually only "cheated" in the last few weeks. And when I say cheating, I mean a small cookie or a bite or bread. For the last week or so, I have been having watery diarreah that is yellow in color. My stool has not been solid for at least a week and a half. My first thought was leaky gut-but am not sure why or how come for so long. I have had an incident of leaky gut before but seems to go away rather quickly. My next thought was refractory sprue-except there is no pain involved (ie stomachache, discomfort) prior to my bowel movement. It is just watery and involves some undigested food. Please tell me it does not sound like refractory sprue. That is my biggest fear. I have made a new vow to not cheat and am actually researching gluten-free receipes as I have not done this before. Can anyone help me? I am desperate for advice.

In N Out Burger

21 May 2004 - 12:49 PM

I was told that protein style burgers at In-N-Out are gluten free. I had one last night and have not had a reaction or anything. Was wondering if anyone knows if the secret sauce is gluten free? I called In-N-Out and was told that the major ingredients are gluten free. The customer service rep I spoke with said that the secret sauce is a thousand island style sauce and was unsure about it's gluten content. Has anyone done research on this to know? I love In-N-Out because their fries are safe to eat.

Peanut Butter

18 May 2004 - 02:57 PM

Does anyone else seem to be bothered by peanut butter? Are all brands gluten free? I seem to get a stomach ache after I eat peanut butter.
