What Home Testing Options Do I Have?

02 July 2007 - 05:41 PM

I basically want to test for eggs, soy, wheat, and dairy, but cannot afford to spend too much money. What options do I have? And delivered in the United States.

I hope someone can help, and I would appreciate it a lot :) Thank you!

And also links and prices of course, if possible. Any guidance will be so appreciated!

Where Do I Get Food Sensitivity Testing Done?

25 June 2007 - 07:32 PM

I suspect that I am sensitive to gluten. One reason why I know is due to constipation and bloating. I cannot tolerate it, every time I eat wheat, I get extremely constipated. When I stop, it goes back to normal. Another reason is my skin, I flare up badly when I eat wheat, and it goes down a week later. But right now it's just a "suspicion" but I do not know where to go to get tested. I also want to get tested for all foods, but at the same time am scared that I will be paying more than I should.

So that is why I ask here where exactly do I need to go to get tested. Is there a specific doctor who can do it? Naturopath? Or is it just a regular doctor? I am not sure but really need to know.

I reside in Houston, so if there are any here that you know of please do let me know, I am dying to find out and thought this was the best place to ask.

Thank you so much!

Is Corn Safe?

24 June 2007 - 06:13 PM

Hello there, sorry I am new here, but I have seen conflicting views on corn and just do not know what to believe in for sure.

"Though corn (maize) is one of those grains that many people -- not just celiacs -- may be allergic to, it is not a grain that is thought to cause damage to the villi in celiacs. It is tolerated by most celiacs."

If this is bad for you, how can it be safe?

I tried searching to find the answer, but was not completely conclusive. I hope you all may help :) Thank you for your time, I really appreciate this so much!
