Didn't think I would find anything for Celiacs while visiting my boyfriends family in LA. However, we saw an ad on TV for Fiesta Nutrition Center and went to see it. It had a load of resources and food free of gluten and dairy. However, it was all way more expensive than what I pay for in Georgia. Some products were DOUBLE the price. I didn't buy anything but it's nice that there is at least one store around here offering gluten-free food.


Diners, Drive-ins, And Dives

I can't help but notice how many restaurants on this show add flour, barley, and gluten to food in odd ways. They add flour into rubs for meat, make sauces with beer, use flour so food doesn't stick together, etc. It just shows how careful we have to be when eating out. You may say no wheat or flour but then eat a dinner covered in sauce from a beer. I think it is best when speaking with the person who makes the stuff because a server may not even know that the chef sprinkles flour on all the meat.

Sugar Free?

My Mom's GI told her to try being dairy and sugar-free. The dairy-free is no problem since she is used to me and my future sister-in-law being dairy-free, but this whole sugar-free thing is new to her and to us!

What should she look out for sugar-wise?

What can she have to replace sugar?

Is Agave okay for her?
