Eidon Ionic Minerals?

24 March 2013 - 03:30 PM

Hi all - I just wondered if anyone has tried these?  They are supposed to be derived from rock mineral salts only (in water) and therefore apparently have absolutely no contact with gluten or indeed other grains, dairy or soya.

I tried the bone support one today and felt slightly odd stomach wise so just wondered if anyone else had tried them with any success?

Best wishes, Carolyn

Inhalation Again - At Work - Very Worried

11 March 2013 - 12:04 PM

Dear all,

Someone at work cooked some biscuits and popcorn in the microwave last Friday afternoon and it literally smelled like sitting in a bakery for about 3 hours afterwards as the air conditioning is very poor in our offices and the smell just permeated everywhere.

Ever since then I have had stomach issues (D on saturday, severe cramping yesterday and now today even a small bit of blood and mucus.)

I know others have found that inhaling gluten is enough to cause a problem, but seriously do you think it could have caused this? There is nothing else obvious which has changed, although there is always the chance it is a stomach bug I guess (hope).

I am very concerned that my family - and indeed my employer if this keeps happening - are going to start to think I'm losing my mind (which I am absolutely not - of that I am sure!)  No-one here in the UK believes that smelling gluten could possibly be enough to trigger a reaction, but I'm starting to really think it might do. I am fairly sure I also react to the smell of toast.

Thanks so much for any replies. I am really worried because this could make working in an office with other people as well as relationships extremely difficult.  But I can't see that there is anything II can do about it over and above what I already am (prepare all my meals from scratch, no grain, no dairy, no soya, hyper vigilant about cc.)

Best wishes, Carolyn

Eggs?

04 November 2012 - 11:49 AM

Hi all,

Here in the UK you can't get eggs from chickens which are only raised on pasture and other non-grain feed. Hence, we don't have any choice but to eat eggs fed on wheat, corn, soya etc.

I just wondered how other super sensitives find eggs from chickens fed on grain? Do you manage ok with them, or do they cause a reaction?

There doesn't seem to be a definitive conclusion anywhere on whether traces of gluten and grain do get through to eggs or not?

Thanks so much for any knowledge people have on this.

Liothyronine - Gluten, Corn And Lactose Free Version? Paddock?

30 September 2012 - 10:26 AM

Dear all,

I think this is a tall order, but worth a try. I have been diagnosed as hypothyroid and my doctor wants me to take T3 rather than T4 in case I cannot convert T4 to T3.

However, I am not only a super sensitive where gluten is concerned, but also sensitive to corn and lactose - joy!

I have narrowed things down to the Paddock brand of liothyronine I think, as they say this is gluten and corn free.

I just wondered if anyone happens to know if they are also lactose free? I have asked the question but they are now being slow in coming back to me and I am really keen to get on and start taking something.

Thanks if you happen to know!

Gutpro Or Custom Probiotics - Any Experience From Super Sensitives?

09 July 2012 - 11:42 AM

Dear all,

It sounds like no-one has had any experience with Kirkman probiotics, so I just wondered about two others that I am considering trying.

They are super expensive, so I would really value any experience that other people have.

Has anyone tried Organic 3's GUTpro product?

Or otherwise Custom Probiotics probiotics? I am thinking of trying the D-lactate free formula as I have also had a period of chronic fatigue in the past.

Both companies say the products are "gluten free" although neither can confirm what the bacteria are grown on. Organic 3 is much better about stating that they test to < 5ppm though, whereas Custom Probiotics don't give me answer about this.

Thank you SO much for any replies - it would massively help.

Best wishes, Carolyn
