In Topic: Achy Testicals Associated With Celiac Disease?

Yep, I did prior to diagnoses. When they ran some hormone checks they found I had no testosterone left and 2 other hormones that I forget.
Two injections and a patch for a month helped but after they figured out celiac ( took 6 months), I was back to normal in no time.
Might be a good idea to get your hormone levels checked. good luck

Ken,

Thanks for the insight! So your testicles did not return to normal until you adopted a strict gluten free diet? Also, have you been able to eat dairy products since developing Celiac? I don't believe I'm lactose intolerant, just seems many people on this site have more than just Celiac issues? Thanks for your time!

In Topic: Barbara's Bakery Puffins Cereal?

25 December 2007 - 11:02 AM

I would avoid the puffins cereal that has oat flour...I have been eating it since I have was diagnosed w/ Celiac in early November, and have not felt any improvement in my sensitive stomach.....Just noticed that the Puffins peanut butter flavored cereal was not gluten free, just wheat free....I'm hoping that is why my small intestine has not repaired itself yet......

What about regular milk chocolate candy that has no cookie pieces of any kind in it? That ok? Also, I don't believe I'm lactose intolerant, but I read where if you have Celiac you should avoid dairy while you are trying to heal? Is that true?

Thanks for the help!
