Topics I've Started

Cascadian Farms Frozen Veggies

I know they're owned by General Mills and they'll clearly list any source of Gluten in parentheses, but has anyone had any issues with any of their Frozen Veggies? I just had their Frozen Cut Spinach and am having a reaction. I've had their OG Fruit Spread without any issue.

Bionaturae Tomato Paste

Anyone use it before? I wasn't able to find much with google.

The only ingredient is Tomato Paste so it's really a question of manufacturing

Corn Sensitivity

I just recently figured out that I'm sensitive to corn, which is no easy task since as most of you know - it's in everything!

Anyway it seems to be quantity related and not as serious of a reaction as gluten (thank god). I was hoping some other corn sensitive individuals could share with me what they can and can't get away with. Like if they have to avoid every single corn derived ingredient no matter the quantity, or if a some corn derived ingredients don't even both them at all - say for instance citric and lactic acid (in this example their source is corn). Thanks in advance

Otc Drugs And Cross Contamination

24 March 2013 - 07:17 AM

Has anyone had an issue with it? I would think if you know for certain that all the inactive ingredients in a product are gluten-free, there's probably a %90 chance that it is in fact gluten free. My logic is that with important things like drugs - they're already going to make sure there's no cross contamination with the other drugs - therefore they're probably going to thoroughly clean the production lines in between each run anyway.

Am I assuming too much or has anyone been told that an OTC drug wasn't gluten-free when all the ingredients were?

Is Meclizine Hcl (A Drug For Vertigo) Gluten-Free?

22 February 2013 - 04:58 PM

Here are the inactive ingredients: Lactose, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Starch Glycolate, and Talc.

The only one that causes me concern is the Sodium Starch Glycolate - which I've read is usually made from potato, but I'd prefer not to be a guinea pig, especially when I already feel like crap.

Thank you in advance
