#770878 Makeup And Anxiety

Posted by on 04 February 2012 - 11:53 AM

And to add to my comment some of these comments are unbelievable! Just because somebody is more sensitive or than you does not make them wrong. We are all here for the same reasons and should be more supportive of each other. After being completely gluten free for months I took the advice of a doctor and switches back to my favorite gluten containing products. He was WRONG. And. I I don't eat my eyeliner either. Why would you bee try ro make someone feel bad for their level of sensitivity? We all have different individual cases, that's the nature of this beast. You know your body best, you will figure out what does and doesn't work for you.

#770876 Makeup And Anxiety

Posted by on 04 February 2012 - 11:47 AM

Regardless of what other might say I have gotten incredibly I'll from makeup with gluten in it, even mascara. Some people are more sensitive than others but it is virtually impossible to keep from inhaling and ingesting makeup. She you wash your face where does all the makeup run? Right down past your mouth. And how often do you touch your face and hair? Probably all day long like everybody. You ingest much more than you think when it comes ro beauty products. My reaction is very noticeable and yes anxiety is one of the worst symptoms. Change your makeup and hairsprays, etc and you should see a difference quickly since it is usually a small amount of contamination

#754263 Experience With Nylabone Pet Products?

Posted by on 06 December 2011 - 12:00 PM

Skylark you clearly haven't used Nylabone products before or at least not the bone I am referring to. It is covered in a BBQ flavored coating which is what I was worried about so no, i dont have plans on chewing on my dogs bone. If you are truly such a sensitive celiac (as I am) then you should have some experience gettig sick from some pretty odd circumstances ad I would think you'd be a little more understanding. I've gotten extremely ill from mascara that had wheat starch in it! And no, i dont eat my macara purposefully but when you are a sensitive celiac you realize just how many things make their way into our digestive systems. So I'm trying to be as careful as I an be to prevent contamination because getting glutened SUCKS. Puppies lick EVERYTHING and my hands are so dry from constant washing that thu are literally cracking. I am vigilant but still can't see purposefully exposing myself to something that could make me sick if there are better alternatives. I'm nt sure why you would bother to post such a negative and judgmental response?!

#742115 A Miracle?!? - Change In My Reaction To Gluten

Posted by on 26 October 2011 - 06:38 PM

I call bs. Doctors used to think that children with celiac would recover (really it was just because they were off gluten that Rey were better) but the patients that went back to gluten ended up with intestinal cancers. That is how we know that untreated celiac causes cancer. I want to not have this as much as the next person but I prefer to learn from the mistakes of the past and adhere strictly to te diet. It's not worth cancer to have a bite of cake here and there! I read a lot of books about celiac when I was first diagnose and that's where I got the info about the cancer. When I accidentally ingest gluten now I don't react nearly as bad as before but Your outside reaction doesnt always tell the story of what's happening inside.

#727445 Please Help Me Figure This Out..my Roommate Is "poisoning" Me :/

Posted by on 02 September 2011 - 06:43 PM

Thanks for the info everybody. It helps me to know that CC really CAN make you thatsick andthat I'm not imagining things & more importantly, that there's an answer. I talked to my fiancÚ about everything you all have told me & why I've been reading & he wants to tell the roommate in detail what the situation is & ask that he either not use flour anymore or we will have to give him noir to leave. He told me to look for a gluten free roommate & I think that's a great idea. He's gone working at night & I really do not want to be here alone all the time. This is all new to both of us & we're trying our best to figure it all out. He put an air purifier in the kitchen and cloroxed out a cabinet for my things & labeled it the gluten free zone lol. I feel so overwhelmed though, I really hope this gets easier

#727016 Different Face Wash?

Posted by on 01 September 2011 - 07:14 AM

Sounds like your medication is a possibility. However, one of the most pronounced symptoms I get when I get glutened is an unbearable instant depression. I'm a happy person generally so when it hits ita very noticeable to myself and those around me and it's terrible.

#727012 What Regular Beer Has The Least Gluten

Posted by on 01 September 2011 - 07:10 AM

There is really no difference between low gluten & lots of gluten... If you're going to poison yourself it really doesn't matter how much poison you take! BevMo has some great gluten free beers, I think my favorite so far is Red Sail.

#726940 What Candy Bars Are Ok For Super Sensitives

Posted by on 31 August 2011 - 10:52 PM

I have no problems with snickers, junior mints, baby Ruth... My absolute favorite & what helped me gain weight back are the new snickers peanut butter squared. I kept a bag of those in the fridge and popped one whenever I felt a sugar craving. They helped me to keep weight on & also helped me to not feel so "deprived." we have ro say no to SO many things, I'll be damned if I'm gonna give up the few vices I can still have!

#725216 Is This Gluten-Free?

Posted by on 24 August 2011 - 06:31 AM

Thank you. I'll call today. I had a gut wrenching stomach ache last night like the kind I just don't get anymore & was desperately wracking my brain for anything "unsafe" I could have consumed. I'm vigilant so I don't have a clue :/
