Pregnant And Glutened :(

08 September 2012 - 08:26 AM

I'm 31w & 4d pregnant and I'm fairly certain I got glutened Wednesday at lunch. My stomach has been unhappy ever since and I feel so lethargic and weak, I have no energy. I've been trying to rest and drink lots of water, but I have so much to do to get ready for baby and we're also hosting a BBQ here tomorrow and I have lots to get ready for that. Hubby is helping as much as he can, but I hate feeling this way. Any suggestions for tips for coping with a glutening? I realize there's not a lot that can be done, but any advice is welcome. Thanks!

France: Lyon & Paris

16 July 2012 - 02:17 PM

Hello fellow Celiac travelers! Hubby & I are going to Europe for the first time and are leaving this Saturday. We will be staying most of the time in South-Western Lyon, and then will spend our last 2 nights in Central Paris :) I am 6 months pregnant. I was dx with celiac disease in July 2009 and have been strictly gluten-free ever since. I am printing out a traveler's card from here: http://www.celiactra.../cards/french/. I would love tips on where to get food, what is safe, what to be careful of, restaurant recommendations, and generally any help anyone can give for a first-timer. Thanks so much in advance!

Cold Medicine gluten-free & Pg Safe?

02 March 2012 - 05:07 PM

Hi all, I am only a month & 3 days pregnant, and I have a terrible head cold. The sinus pressure is very painful. I've tried a saline nose spray, acetaminophen, hot soup, hot tea, hot shower... nothing has helped yet. I keep finding conflicting information about what cold medicines are safe to take during pregnancy. I don't see my DR until Thursday. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any sinus meds that are both gluten-free & safe to take during pregnancy?

Thanks :)

Bothwell Cheeses

19 December 2011 - 04:18 PM

My hubby bought some bothwell cheeses in a fundraiser and they look delicious... they also look gluten-free, but I seem to remember reacting to one of them a couple years ago and I'm afraid to try! I searched online but there is no information that I can find regarding the gluten-free status of their cheeses. Does anyone know if bothwell cheeses are gluten-free? Does anyone eat these? This cheese is from New Bothwell, Manitoba :) ...so I wonder if they're not widely available? Ugh. I wish companies had better allergy and gluten information on their websites!
