About two years ago I started experiencing tingling on the tops of my feet when I applied lotion. A year ago I had a bad kink in my neck and couldn't move for two days. It felt like a pinched nerve and it wasn't muscle related. I had to be very careful not to turn my neck as well as the rest of my body the pain was so bad. A year later I had the same problem in my lower back. About 2 months ago I started experiencing a burning sensation on my outter left hip area. I think this is all related to neuropathy problems but I haven't been tested because I told my doctor the hip pain isn't bad enough to justify taking medication that would probably only cause other problems. If I had the neck and back problem more often then I would look at testing because that felt like I was being tortured. Good luck!

Have you had her thyroid checked? My daughter use to get really bad headaches before she was diagnosed with a thyroid problem.
In Topic: Neurological Symptoms?

Hi,
I'm wondering how many of you have more neurological symptoms than gut? For example, tingling in the extremities, numbness in the face/tongue or the same feeling in your mouth when you are coming off of anesthesia at the dentist? Also, achy joints or headaches. Just curious as I get these regularly even after a few years of being gluten-free.
Thanks.
I have had problems with tingling on the top of my feet but I only feel it when applying lotion. A little tingling in the legs every now and then and in the past year I had what felt like a pinched nerve in my neck and lower back (both a year apart). It felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife if I moved so I has to lay on the couch or stay in bed and move as little as possible. Three weeks ago I started experiencing a burning sensation on my left outter thigh. I thought it was because I had been sitting too long but that wasn't the case. It has come and gone at least 4 times since my first episode. Not sure if all are related but from what I hear there isn't much that can be done about any of it.
In Topic: Blood Sugar Balancing Act - Any Tips For Preventing Hypoglycemia?

I keep having sporadic issues with hypoglycemia, they come and go, and it's really a pain. At first I thought it could be diabetes, so I was tested for it, and no issues. Doc said that hypoglycemia issues here and there are pretty par for the course being gluten free. The trick, and what I seem to be failing at, seems to be finding a gluten free snack food that will keep my sugar from crashing between meals and overnight. Anyone have any suggestions? Nuts seem to work pretty well, but what else? Anyone have any pointers?
Make sure your meals have a good amount of protein. I find if I have too many carbs in my meal and not enough protein, I get shaky. For breakfast I have oatmeal and two eggs. If I just had cereal I would have an issue, so I always make sure there is protein included. When I have enchiladas with chicken and rice for dinner I have problems too because there isn't enough protein in my enchilada. Same for spaghetti. I keep pistachios on hand and they usually help. Lunch meat rolled in cheese slices for lunch always keeps me satisfied. You can also add red onions and tomatos. Good luck!

I get hypoglycemic if I have too many carbs in my meal. I need to make sure I have more protein than carbs.
