You will find more information here on this site than you ever will from a doctor. All of us have personal experience and doctors only know what they read or have been taught (unless, of course, they themselves are Celiacs). Keep reading and researching every site you can find.

In Topic: Progresso Creamy Mushroom Soup

29 January 2010 - 08:31 AM

Not all Progresso soups are gluten free but the ones I have tried have been great! I just look for the gluten-free ones and try to buy as many as I can just to support their effort. Haven't seen the creamy mushroom in my area yet (Grass Valley, CA) but I'm on the lookout for it. I used the corn chowder one in the green bean casserole and it was pretty good :)

In Topic: Coping!

hi and welcome! i'm into my 3rd week of gluten free and i've definitely gained more energy (despite the insomnia!). i'm also 37 yrs and so far i've lost 2" off my waist and 10 lbs just by eliminating gluten (i was one bloated girl!) lol i have yet to try the breads but did hear there are good ones out there and that you mainly have to experiment. cornstarch is okay to use and you can drink coke and regular coffee but you have to be careful with the flavored ones. just check check and check EVERYTHING (don't forget your hand lotion!) best wishes! :)

Also, don't forget your lipstick and your husband's chapstick. I've been gluten free since 2005 and I'm still learning. I guess it's just like life...........continual learning. :)

In Topic: Just Want To Introduce Myself From Reno, Nv

Helllo B)
I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member! My name is Skye and I am from Reno, Nevada. I have battled health problems for the better part of the last 2 decades and with my new diagnoses of Celiac and going gluten free I am already finding my health improving. YAY!

I am hoping to find other Reno'ites on here as I am not really finding much in the way of support groups in Reno to socialize with.

I look forward to reading and learning more here with everyone!
Skye

Hi Skye

I'm from Grass Valley, CA, just down the road from you. I was diagnosed in 2005 and I'm still finding out new stuff. Like I never realized I'd have to check out my lipstick and the chapstick my husband uses. Seems like there is something new every day. The internet is my life saver and groups like this enlighten me all the time.
