Hi, I have been over to Europe each of the last three years and when I ordered gluten-free food in Italy I ended up with salad and meat so I decided that eating in MacDonald's was way easier and their salads in Italy are wonderful with cherry tomatoes lots of different types of salad and parmesan an cheese. If you choose grilled Chicken check that it is still gluten-free. I am going back to Italy this Sept / October. Switzerland is an easy country as most of their National sausages are gluten-free and they are pre cooked and therefore can be kept in your day pack for snacking on. It is not easy travelling gluten-free that is for sure and especially with all the foods you can not eat.
Good luck as you will need it.

In Topic: Why Can't She Have It In Moderation?

Just thought you guys should know that my wife left me on Saturday on moved in with her Mother in Virginia. 4 days before the whole family was suppose to move to kentucky for my job that we have know about for months. I got home from work and she told me that her and my daughter would not be accompanying me to Kentucky. Really blindsided me and screwed me. I have a 26 foot moving trucked ready to packed, a new lease ready to be signed, and no place to live here after next week. I don't know if it has anything to do with Celiacs disease but I'm just really hurting right now and in shock!! I had to file immediate paperwork with the court and now that she has been served she has stopped speaking to me. OUCH

I got a feeling there are other issues going on here and maybe spend time understanding what she feels like 'cause until you have walked a mile in someones shoes you just don't know what its like saying good bye to gluten forever. But we Celiac's have to - there is no choice.

In Topic: Cramps While Sleeping

I to suffer from really painful calf / leg cramps and have to wake my husband to push my foot forward and rub my leg where it is hardening, its so painful. It is one of the sign that I have unknowingly eaten gluten. The Dr said drink Indian tonic water and that certainly helps keep away the slight pain that I used to have the next day after the bad cramp. It contains Quinine which you can also get in tablet form.
