Anyone Gone Through Patch Testing

03 January 2011 - 10:50 AM

My biopsy for dh came back negative. (I am still questioning my negative celiac disease results, and am planning to further investigate.) I gather many of you have gone through allergy patch testing in search of a reason for your rashes.

Just looking for experiences. What things did they test you for and how bad was the process? Were you able to shower at all? It takes 5 days total!!

What Type Of Doctor To See Next

07 December 2010 - 03:46 PM

I originally went to a dermatologist because of rashes. After putting a few puzzle pieces together, we decided to test for celiac. The derm feels my results are negative, though I do have an elevated ttg IgG level. My GI symptoms were never awful, and have really cleared up on a 10 day or so gluten-free diet. Other possible symptoms include tingling in hands and feet, along with many other possible auto immune symptoms.

So, given my test results and my symptoms, what kind of doctor do I see? If it's not celiac, I feel something isn't right. Do I go to a GI? A neorologist? What type of doc generally sees autoimmune patients?

I am still awaiting patch testing by the dermatologist.

What To Do, What To Do?

06 December 2010 - 11:38 AM

Received my blood work and biopsy results. Doctor considered everything negative. Please note that this is a resident Dermatologist, that had to consult a gastro to decipher my results. I have no issue with that. Just pointing out she's not an expert in the non-skin results.

Deamdated Gliadin Iga~ 2 units. This is in the negative range of 0-19.

Deamidated Gliadin IgG~ 2 untits within the negative range of 0-19.

Endomysial Antibody Iga~ negative

transglutaminase ttg IgA~ <2 in a negative range of 0-3.

T-transglutmanase ttg Iga~9 U/ml This is a weak positve 6-9. (almost a positive)

I hope I copied this all right. The lab report is confusing. Any thoughts, specifically what I have in red?

Lichen Sclerosis

Anyone have it? If so, did the gluten-free diet make you feel better?

Still Riding Pizza Crusts

03 December 2010 - 03:17 PM

For those that aren't aware, this company sells their crust to pizzarias. You can also order the crusts online. I got my first gluten-free pizzaria pizza. It was decent, not great. Keep in mind that they do their own sauce and cheese.

I guess being from NJ, I am spoiled when it comes to pizza. We have it good here!!

Have any of you ordered the crusts or eaten it at a pizza place? What were your thoughts? I found another place close by and may try it there next.
