In Topic: Resturant Chains That Have Gluten Free Options?

21 April 2011 - 07:57 PM

I don't know how widespread the Biaggi's chain, but it is an excellent place for gluten-free options. Their pizza is awesome, and they even have gluten-free bread for dipping. Hubby has never had a reaction from them.

Yes, totally AMAZING! Love the bread that comes out before the meal! Pizza great, pasta too! THANKS BIAGGIS! They also have separate prep area!

In Topic: Lactose Intolerant? Ug, I Need Some Help

20 April 2011 - 06:19 PM

well I know I was lactose intolerant, was cool if I took lactose pills, if those don't work for you then, you may have developed Casein intolerance, which means the protein get's you, not the sugar, so lactose pills won't help that =/ I learned that the hard way <_<

It's amazing to me that you went dairy free so quick after your celiac diagnosis. What prompted you to do it? I have been gluten free since Sept 10 but have not omitted anything else from my diet because I think I want to be in denial that I have other intolerances!!! However after 7 months gluten free, I still am not "regular" like I thought I would be. Bloating gone but still other GI problems. I was worried about dairy and corn just because I hear about so many other celiacs that have issues with them!

In Topic: Need Calming Down - 6 Weeks Pregnant And Just Learned Of Celiac Miscarriage C...

20 April 2011 - 06:10 PM

Please try your best not to stress sweetheart! But as pregnant moms, we constantly worry! I have had 3 pregnancies and probably had full blown celiac disease the whole time but everything went ok. All my kids were small for size (IUGR) and did better out of the womb at the end of the pregnancies so I delivered them 1-2 weeks early. Daughter was 5 lbs, 13 oz, middle son was 6 lbs, 9 oz, and baby boy was 5 lbs, 7 oz. I was diagnosed last year after getting really sick at the end of my pregnancy. AGAIN...I ate gluten the ENTIRE pregnancy cause I had NO clue I had celiac. I was first in my family diagnosed. Now my sons have come back with DQ2 & DQ8 genes so they are gluten free now. Good Luck to you! If I ate gluten EVERY day, you will be ok I'm sure with just a little bit!

In Topic: Cracked Heels Healed!

20 April 2011 - 05:46 PM

I have had badly dry and cracked heels for years and since going gluten free 3 and a half months ago, they have HEALED!

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago! Now it's some calous but no more cracks. before they were deep cracks to the point that i was a little worried.

It's just incredible. How can it be?? anyone else?

That is so funny because just yesterday I was thinking about how my heels have felt sooooo smooth! I was diagnosed with celiac disease in Sept 10 so 8 months gluten free. Funny coincedence? Who knows? I like it though!
