Like so many others whom I've read, I've spent most of my life feeling sick and having a wide range of ailments which seemed to have no connection to each other: chronic constipation/diarrhea, lower back pain and swelling, anemia, stress incontinence, migraines, excessive bruising and arthritic pain in all the major joints. I've been tested in various ways for various symptoms, but never for the actual underlying disease. It took abstinence from gluten for 3 months to prove to me (and to my doctor) that gluten was the issue. My official diagnosis date is 13 April 2011
