I am 19 years old and do not have Celiac disease. I was diagnosed with wheat and gluten allergies that were supposed to be minor. When I ignored advice and continued to eat wheat and gluten I ended up getting really sick. I was told by my doctor that I needed to stop eating wheat and gluten all together or get worse. It is really hard living without wheat since most don't really understand. My step-dad is wheat intolerant as well but the rest of my family doesn't comprehend how awful I feel after I ingest even the slightest bit of wheat. I am just looking for support and maybe friends who understand what it's like.
