Thanksfoe posting about this, I follow strictest gluten free eating and I know I have been gluttened somehow, had 13 days chronic Diarhea, cannot leave house, cannot go up to hospital see my new born grandson, am reduced tears and I never cry. Feels like 7 months ago before celiac diagnosis, scares me that I will relaspe get wrdsw worse again.I am going to live on chicken broth, roast chicken, gluten free yogurt, blandest foods see if I can pull myself out of this nightmare. TerrilynneI am wondering if anyone knows why the reaction to gluten lingers for a while. First the gas and stomach issues, mucus,D, joint pain, anxiety...etc....then I get a massive headache then C then finally cold sores all over my face. This all takes about 2 weeks and then I am good to go until the next time and it all repeats. Just wondering why it all is so drawn out?
Thanks!

Follow up- bought some cod liver oil tabs which contain 1250 IU vit A each (25% of daily allowance) and 130 IU vit D. I am taking 3 tabs a day like the bottle suggests and I am noticing a big difference already. My body was in need of vit A!!
Wow..I am desperate also vision screwy issues eyes tests perfect, I am going to try cod liver oil also. Thanks for sharing, Terrilynne

thanks kindly for great useful links. In Midwest Godfathers pizza offers Gluten Free choices, Sam & louis Pizza has Gluten free pizzas prepared seperately away from gluten, and I read that SubWay sandwhich shops are now test marketing in Oregon and 500 other stores a new Gluten free sandwhich not prepared on normal assemly line areas. In Topic: Glutened By Maalox!?!?!
25 August 2011 - 10:43 AM
Hi, searched lot sites concerning Maalox, on Living strong Gluten free Medications it shows Maalox as safe.Did you find out anything more about it.Been Gluten free 3-4 weeks and taking Maalox every day, hope safe and not what is making me still feel like crud.So after getting glutened earlier this week, I was finally getting back to 100% last night, but had some spicy food. I took some Maalox before heading to bed, and was up in the middle of the night feeling like ass soup.. Turns out Maalox wasn't a good choice after doing some reading. I'm more ranting than anything here... I'm at almost 4 weeks into going gluten free, and I'm hitting that proverbial wall where it feels like there's nothing I can have anymore. It's pretty messed up when something that was intended to make me feel better, will make me feel worse for a few days...
Over-the-Counter Gastrointestinal Medications
The list of gluten-free over-the-counter gastrointestinal medications includes Effervescent Alka Seltzer Plus, Gas X, Extra Strength with Maalox, Imodium, Lactaid, Maalox, Mylanta, Pepcid, Pepto Bismal, Philips Original Milk of Mangesia, Prilosec and Tums (Ultra, Regular and EX).

omg I have been taking Maalox everyday, been gluten free for 3 weeks aprox, I don`t want to take Pepto people mention, constipated enough, ugh.TerriIt for sure has gluten in it. From other posts and sites I'm reading, it was for sure the Maalox. I'm beginning to feel better, but every time I get glutened, I start having energy issues, it just sucks me dry...
