No kidding it NEVER is one thing. My fiancée is has been gluten free for a year and a half and she still is constantly in pain, can’t sleep, and has a number of other problems that I’m positive are related to her GI tract (chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, IBS, depression and list goes on). Her docs are consistently less than helpful and I’ve made it a mission of mine to figure out what else is going on. The most likely culprit I’ve been led to thus far is Candida Yeast. Right now I’m reading Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook, by Jeanne Marie Martin and Zoltan P. Rona, MD. The first two chapters were mind blowing if only because they described 90% of the things going on with her. The main problem I have is that there doesn’t seem to be anyway to confirm or deny that this is the issue (unless someone out there knows something that I don’t) and I am not keen on treating or medicating for something that may or may not be the issue… but it seems that’s what we’re left with. It sucks. We’ve tried lectin blockers and added supplements (vitamin C, MSM, zinc, selenium, Kelp, beta-carotene, B100, and K2-D4) and nothing seems to change. I know that stress is a factor, we’re getting married in 10 days and I leave for training in 4 weeks (and then Afghanistan for 6 months). Any words of wisdom?
