Using Otc Anti-Itch Cream On Dh

18 March 2012 - 01:12 PM

I have this rash that appears very much like DH, but I have not been diagnosed. I know that persons with gluten intolerance and/or Celiac can be prone to other skin conditions such as exzema.

SO, today at the store I got some exzema cream to try on it, in case it might work. If I do in fact have DH, will it hurt anything to put OTC exzema cream on it? Should I or should I not do this?

Need On-The-Go Breakfast Ideas

16 March 2012 - 09:52 AM

Hello all, I'll be starting a new job soon where I'll be needing to leave for work very early in the morning, and I want a quick, healthy, not messy, on-the-go breakfast I can eat in the car. The packaged gluten-free cereal bars would work, but they are SO EXPENSIVE. Any other ideas?

Udi's Bread Tip

14 March 2012 - 04:38 AM

I've noticed some persons on the board posting that it's inconvenient to have frozen bread rather than (the old) freah kind, and saying that it's really hard to pry the pieces apart.

Just wanted to say I have always kept the loaf in the door of the freezer where it's not quite as cold, rather than inside the freezer, and the pieces come apart really easily and they thaw very fast. Just about 1 minute in the oven at 350 and they're ready for a sandwich. It's almost as convenient as having the fresh loaf for me.

Hope this helps someone out!

Friends Throwing A Party For Me With Food

13 March 2012 - 05:00 PM

I just found out that some very nice people at my work, who do not know that I am gluten-free, are throwing a surprise party for me in 2 days, complete with cake and food. (I'm not supposed to know about it.) Obviously I won't be able to eat anything that they will have so thoughtfully brought and/or made. Any advice on how to handle this in the most polite way possible???
