Need Help With Sibo In Kids--Input?

25 January 2013 - 09:06 PM

Hi there,
We have a six year old who was diagnosed a year ago with Celiac. We were gluten-free and happy/no problems until about month 9 gluten free. She developed abdominal pain below her belly button which is moderate, constant pain and sometimes flares up. We have had numerous doctors visits (also with our Celiac GI) and are now embarking on an effort to clear up "SIBO" which is the current diagnosis.

Any experience with this? Thoughts? Suggestions on diet? What worked? What didn't?

Thanks in advance for input!

Warm Fuzzies

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to say that I appreciate you all very much. I had a rough night out at a great restaurant--the food and service were perfect, but one of my girlfriends questioned whether or not Celiac is an actual disease...oh boy!

I'm thinking of all of you--each one of us has far too many similar stories to this. Someday Celiac will be widely understood and accepted.

Until then, thank you all for being so supportive, helpful, and just plain wonderful!

Have a great night!

Hi there,
Beyond Play Doh, which art supplies have gluten? What do you avoid? How do you figure out which art supplies are ok?
Thanks in advance!

What would you stock your freezer with?

:) Thanks!

"here's A Cookie You Can Give My Dog"

21 September 2012 - 07:46 PM

This has happened a gazillion times before we went gluten free...but this week was the first time since we've been diagnosed Celiac--and my daughter handled it wonderfully!

We were at a park and there was a friendly older gentleman with a cute dog. My kids liked the dog, pet it, etc. The man then says, "Here's a cookie you can give my dog." He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out some cracker-looking treat. My daughter paused, looked at the treat, looked at the man and said, "No thank you."

I was so proud! I gave her lots of praise, a high five, a hug, a kiss. If she weighed less, I would have tossed her into the air with joy!
