Ideas Needed For Salsa Alternative...

25 August 2012 - 03:08 PM

Hey Guys...

I'm giving up tomatoes...

Any ideas for an alternative, pig out salsa? I'm looking for something to scoop and scoop...with my rice tortilla chips...

When/If I get hungry later in the day, homemade salsa has been a staple. Sure would love to come up with an enjoyable replacement!

I'm also cutting out potatoes, dairy, corn, sugars.

Coconut Flour Banana Bread

24 August 2012 - 07:22 PM

Just made this tonight! It's delicious... Best part...my type 1 diabetic hubby can enjoy it, too!

Super easy to make... (I used raw stevia instead of the liquid).

She has a coconut blueberry banana bread recipe that is really good, too...

Mobile Viewing...

22 August 2012 - 01:20 PM

The mobile viewing does not have "settings" or a "report" button. And, I'm unable to add an avatar to my profile.

Is this just for mobile phones? Will these features be coming to mobile?

Certainly not a big problem...just wondering.

Magnesium Deficiency? Still Having Nagging, Chronic Complaints? Something To Look Int...

21 August 2012 - 04:06 PM

Please take the time to read this... So many posts here from folks who have "gone gluten-free" but continue to have some significant symptoms. Fatigue, constipation, etc. I see B12 deficiency, thyroid, etc as suggestions...but I haven't come across magnesium deficiency, yet. So, I really wanted to bring it up...

Magnesium is a CRITICAL element...used in over 300 of our bodily processes! Also, magnesium deficiency is EASILY MISSED (sound like something we're all familiar with?) because only 1% of our magnesium level is found in the bloodstream... only 1%.

This deficiency is linked to many symptoms and diseases.

I'm hoping that some folks in here will find this info helpful and a good starting point to help with recovery.

Oh and... The statistics that I've been reading indicate that well over 50% of us do not get our daily allowance...not even close. Not to mention that steaming, broiling, etc can "remove" this vital element from our diets.

Need Ideas From The Bakers/cooks In Here...

21 August 2012 - 11:27 AM

Hi All!

I'm cutting out corn...so... I was hoping someone might have some ideas about making own "tortilla chips".

I was wondering if I could, somehow, take my brown rice tortillas and bake them (or something) and cut into "strips".

I enjoy making my own salsa and would like to find a good replacement for my corn tortilla chips.

Any ideas (easier the better ;) ) would be greatly appreciated.
