More Questions After Blood Work...

11 October 2012 - 01:09 PM

Been in for blood work 2 additional times since diagnosed with celiac and LC because of my overbearing fatigue - most recent test did the ANA along with 3 others which all were negative except for the ANA, which came back as speckled at 1:80.  More extensive blood work tomorrow, and a recommendation to see a rheumatologist.  This is all so foreign to me, just wanted some input based on the ANA results?!  :)

Follow Up, More Bloodwork

So far, the doctor has run my B12 levels, folic acid, and TSH...all normal, the TSH was slightly below normal.  Today, he ordered: CCP Antibody, ANA, Cortisol, and T3.  Interesting combo.  Anyone else had all these random tests done?  They're trying to figure out what is causing my extreme fatigue...it all just blows my mind to be quite honest!  Oh and more anti-"D" meds, cuz this colitis is killing me!

Doctor In The Boise, Id Area?

Anyone good around here?  My doctor has pretty much left me to fight for myself, and I'm very frustrated with their lack of help AND knowledge on celiac!

Italy...suggestions?

25 September 2012 - 02:38 PM

I'm flying to Italy in 3 weeks, have yet to venture out since being diagnosed with celiac so this should be an adventure!  I guess I'm looking for more snack ideas than anything...and any great restaurants anyone has tried?  I'll be in the Tuscan region - Florence, Venice, Siena, Cinque Terre.  Also...due to my serious issues with colitis lately, I'm pretty much on a "mush" diet, which works fine once I get to Italy...but what on earth can I take for the 20+ hour plane ride that will stay for that long?  Ahh the joys of being a newbie!!   ;)

Is This Truly Normal?

24 September 2012 - 02:49 PM

Week 5 of being gluten free (or maybe 6).  Undiagnosed for probably 15 years.  Pretty bad fatigue the last year and a half.  Since going gluten free, the fatigue has been taken to a whole new level that I cannot even fathom.  Example: last night, I couldn't fold my laundry I was so tired and lifeless.  I've gained 10 lbs since going gluten free - my diet consists of chicken, turkey, fresh fruits and veggies, and nuts.  Had blood tests run by my idiot doctor to see if I'm deficient on folic acid, b12 and ran one thyroid test.  All came back ok.  Is this really normal?  Most days of the week, I can hardly function I'm so tired.  I'm 29 years old and used to be extremely active, now I can't even force myself to go for a walk.  :(  I go to Italy in a month and would really like to not only have energy, but drop this stupid weight that I've gained!
