Topics I've Started

Dyshidrotic Eczema

29 October 2012 - 05:13 PM

For as long as I can remember, I have had small fluid-filled blisters on the bottoms of my feet and sometimes on my fingers. They got even worse after I had my daughter back in May. Took quite awhile for me to discover that it was dyshidrotic eczema (self-diagnosed by comparing symptoms and pictures).

I've noticed lately that if I get glutened or stressed, they come back with a vengeance. Has anyone else had an issue with painfully itchy blisters deep in the soles of their feet?

Is A Biopsy Necessary For A Diagnosis?

So, I went to see my doctor today. She is such a great listener. I told her all my symptoms and she readily agreed to the serum test for IgA. We were discussing the high possibility of it having a false negative and she made the statement that regardless of the blood test, she had enough information to make a diagnosis.
I mentioned this to another friend with celiac disease and she said that my doctor was out of line and that I would have to have the endoscopy before a valid diagnosis was made.

Just wondering who is correct - or is this one of those grey areas?
